Awesome Pipes for My '22 HD Fat BOB 114
By Nick H. on
Excellent fit, look, and sound! Great set of pipes! Few tips if you are installing these pipes on a HD Softail Fat BOB 114: 1) Highly recommend purchasing a fuel tuner to tune the motorcycle after installation, especially if you have other aftermarket high-performance parts installed. I did purchase one because I wanted to hear and feel the difference with the new pipes before and after tuning it. As expected, there is a huge difference in performance and sound once it is tuned. PS: DynoJet Power Vision 4 is awesome. 2) The instructions provided by Vance and Hines are not specific to any softail model. They try to cover any potential configuration, but don't get nervous if the steps don't directly align with what you have. Just ensure that you read through all the steps before getting started, including the steps to uninstall your old exhaust. 3) You will need a small pivoting ratchet to remove and reinstall the right 1/2" nut on the front header pipe. By far, the most difficult and time-consuming part of the project. 4) You will need a torque ratchet when installing the new mounts. This is not noted in the Vance and Hines instructions. 5) At least for my motorcycle, there is NO NEED to remove the front brake pedal prior to installation of the new exhaust. It does not get in the way and it does not provide any additional room during installation.
