Do these impact performance? I have an 08 fatbob and have heard a lot of different opinions. Do these work with the computer or do they just bypass the sensor? Is it better to just get pipes with an 02 bung?
It depends on what type of tuner you're using. If the tuner itself connects to the oxygen sensors itself, then you wouldn't want to use these on your setup. Otherwise, if you're having a good dyno technician build a map for your bike, then yes - these are ideal. Basically, they deliver a steady signal to the bike's ECU so the ECU doesn't have to compensate for changes in air/fuel ratios. The result is that it's easier for your tuner to build a really good map and, once the engine is warmed up, give you the best possible performance to be had. TL/DR - if the tuner you're using doesn't hook up to the O2 sensors, this is a good thing to have.
