A game changer for H-D Pan America owners
By None on
I own a Harley Davidson Pan America Special. It's an amazing motorcycle with a fatal flaw, especially for a touring bike; the battery is almost impossible to access. Unlike most bikes (which have the battery under the seat), the Pan America battery sits under the skid plate, just behind the front wheel. Getting to it is a pain as the skid plate has to be removed first. Jumping the bike can be a thirty-minute ordeal. This jump starter cuts that time down to seconds. You have to install the compatible jumper leads on your battery, but once you do, you just connect this thing and the bike comes to life with no issues. The H-D has a heavy crank that requires serious power to turn, but it's a piece of cake for the XP-3. But the best part about the XP-3: it fits in your jacket! You don't have to pack it in your saddlebag, tank bag, or backpack. Just slip it into your riding jacket and you have extra insurance against dead batteries. This jumper is a fantastic buy. I think every Pan America rider should get one (just be sure to get the leads as well, they're sold separately).
