Dynatek Upgrade

I replaced the stock 2003 Harley 1200 Sportster ignition module with this Dynatek, and comparing them just out of the box, the difference is amazing. The stock module is a tiny, fragile chunk of light plastic and the Dynatek is heavy and solid and very well made. Installation was not difficult, but it does have it's own wiring, and you will cut off the factory harness so you wont be able to use a factory module again. However, you won't want to. Wire it up, set the timing, and it will fire right off and run smooth as glass. I bought my bike, a 2003 1200 Sportster in 2006 and it ran ok, but it ran slightly hot, did not like to idle when it was hot and got between 49 and 52 MPG. After setting the timing, and installing the Dynatek, the bike ran much cooler, fired off with a touch of the starter, and idled beautifully. Best of all, my mileage went to 59-62 MPG. I installed the Dynatek in 2022, and the mileage has remained high and I have yet to need my oil cooler, which I used to use regularly in the summer. I HIGHLY recommend this, and the Dynatek and my Mustang seat are the two best upgrades I've made on this bike bar none.

Solid product and fairly easy to install and "program." I've never replaced an ignition module before so was pleased that it was so easy to get running. I installed this on a 2003 H.D. Sportster XL1200.

Can i wire this back into the stock plug on the bike and not add anything else?

Yes, you most certainly can! Other than setting the switches that are on the unit itself, you don't need to do anything to this device to have it work on any bike you see in our fit guide.
