585 cams are bolt-in cams. Cams that exceed the limits of the stock valve springs require the use of special high lift springs. Most S&S cams have higher lift than stock and are designed to take advantage of the extra flow of ported stock heads or S&S Super Stock heads. Due to the high lift of these cams, S&S adjustable pushrods are recommended. Not all grinds are available in the chain drive version. To get the best performance from a performance cam installation, a high flow intake and exhaust system is also recommended.
Designed for 88 to 96 CID engines with compression ratios from 9:1 to 10:1 and 100 to 111 CID engines from 9.7:1 to 10.5:1 compression. Provides massive horsepower and torque increases starting at 3000 rpm and holds steady all the way to redline. 3500-6000 rpm for 88"-96" engines and 2500-5500 for larger engines.
Quick installation and Easy Start Cams allow stock starter to start any engine.

Experience has shown that the chain drive with hydraulic chain tensioners works well for all but the most demanding high performance applications. That's why S&S offers their most popular grinds in a chain drive version. The most obvious advantage to a chain drive cam set over their popular gear drive cams is the expense. When you replace the stock cams with an S&S chain drive cam set, all you are replacing are the cams. You re-use the stock cam drive components so you save money on parts. Saving money has always been a good idea, but never more so than it is today.

Yes, if you were to choose the 2007 Harley Davidson FXDC Dyna Super Glide Custom cams from our fit guide, you'd receive the correct parts to fit your machine. Mind you, as noted in the description, these cams do require S&S high lift valve spring kit 106-5909. With those two kits, you should be all set!

Yes, we certainly do recommend the installation of high-performance valve springs for all Twin Cam engines when valve lift exceeds .551 inches. The heavier valve springs will prevent valve float and, in doing so, insure your engine runs properly on the bigger cams.

Yes, you would be able to but usually customers opt to change them out since they are right there.
