Yoshimura's 3/4 exhaust kit includes an R-77 muffler, stainless steel mid-pipes up to the stock header, all hardware for installation, and detailed step-by-step instructions.
Yoshimura's Works Finish takes on a unique coloring after it goes through a heat cycle on the machine that looks much like those titanium works components many factory racers use.
The R-77 delivers better performance overall because of the larger volume of packing material available that's inherit to its design. You'll notice great sound that come from the R-77 muffler. It's not loud, but a rather nice and throaty.

Replaced purley for aesthetics as stock vstrom exhaust looks like a vacuum cleaner strapped to side of bike. Looks much nicer, perfect fit, easy install. Had to use taper bit on silencer to allow screwdriver to line up properly with baffle screw

Answer QuestionWhile you can probably get away with installing this Yoshimura Works R-77 Race Series 3/4 Exhaust System by itself, to achieve the best possible throttle response and engine performance, it's always best to install some sort of fuel controller. Basically, any time you change the way air flows into or out of the engine, you'll want to adjust the air fuel ratio accordingly to maximize any performance gains available from the new freer flowing exhaust system.
