RK Chain Cutter & Rivet Tool

I installed new sprockets and chain on a 2001 Kawasaki W650 and chose a chain with a riveted style master link. None of my older chain tools had a proper riveting feature, so I purchased the RK tool on the recommendation of a you tube video. It worked well, just as I expected. The instructions regarding which adapter to use for each step in the process are critical, so read carefully! And don't be surprised if it takes some strength to turn the handles to get the job done! You def also need a digital caliper on hand to check your progress as you go in order to be sure the sideplate is pressed on to the same width as the other chain links, and to ensure the rivets are mushroomed to factory specs. You could do it by eye and by feel, but accuracy is more likely if you take measurements as you go.

Excellent tools, top quality! Just used it right now, got the job done, didn't use the riveting tool only broke the chain. The chain I bought didn't have the master link it came in one piece.

I hate chains, but if you have a chain, and have to replace it with a master link that requires the master link that must be pressed, this is The Tool To Use!
