Great slip-ons but...

I am extremely happy with them and they were worth every penny. With that said please excuse this long-winded review. Also keep in mind as you read this I am mechanically challenged so some of the issues I had may you may not. They were installed on my 2013 Voyager which is Ivanized and only has a K&N filter but no modified intake. First, they are packaged well but quality control is lacking from the factory. One of my mufflers had a small dent but since it’s under the saddle bag and in toward the belt no one will ever see it so I didn’t get to upset over it. The center pipe was all scratched up and still had the machine marks but again it’s never going to be seen. There are no instructions with the mufflers leaving you to figure out the correct order to put the shields and clamps on and there is an order. This is where someone with a mechanical background would shine. Pics would have helped or simple instructions telling you to mount the supplied heat shields before you put the clamps on. The pipes I ordered are multi fit and are for the 2009-2018 voyager. One pipe comes with the threaded hole for the O2 sensor. The problem is my 2013 Voyager doesn’t have one and there was no plug supplied to fill in the hole. I discovered they are M12 x 1.25. It’s the same size as many universal oil drainplugs so I bought a drainplug for $4 and it fit fine. After they were installed I started up the bike and it growled at me. For the first few minutes while the idle is up they are a little loud. Once it heated up they quieted down and were not much louder than my stock (drilled) pipes. When you hit the throttle, they bark and have a loud deep low throaty sound. When you get in to the throttle they come to life but at cruising speed their just deep and throaty. I could listen to my radio at about the same volume as before. To conclude I will just say, I was disappointed when I opened the box but nothing that caught my attention will ever catch anyone elses. After I figured out the order to put on the parts it went together easy. The bike now sounds like it demands respect when you wake her up but when cruising my ears aren’t ringing.
