Got a 2011 Fury. Had the Cobra speedsters swepts on already thought I would add this. Easy to add to bike. Not a lot of extra noise. No tuner needed on my 2011. Took a mile or so but adjusted on its own. Bike runs excellent. A little pricey but K&N filter alone is around $100. Cobra Kit is of good quality and easy install. Thank you

The intake system was very easy to install and looks awesome! Just ordered Cobra 2-1 exhaust and the Fi2000 tuner to go with it. The cross intake gets rid of the big bulky chrome cover of the stock air filter and looks great!

If you do not have any other performance modifications done, you shouldn't need to do anything else. If you have say a set of pipes on it, then I would suggest a fuel tuner to be added.
Hissing sound after installation?

That is normal with this type of air breather. The open element you can hear the engine pulling air in past the throttle plates. The crankcase breather hose can also add to this audible sound after installation. With a stock airbox you normally do not hear this due to all the baffling and restrictions. Its a trade off for a freer flowing performance type intake.
Is this a washable filter?

Yes, Cobra's Cross intake kit does have a washable and re-usable K&N air filter. To refresh these filters, we recommend the use of a K&N Air Filter ReCharger Kit when it comes time to service the filter element.
Does this air intake come with a protective cover ?

There is no protective cover included with this intake kit. If you're worried about water intrusion during a rainy ride, it's not to worry. The filter is treated with an oil that repels water enough for all but the heaviest of downpours. Basically, if the downpour is so great that you're not going to ride in it anyway.
You will, however, want to consider servicing that filer after a good rain anyway. To do that, we recommend a K&N filter recharger kit to do the job. With that binary kit, you'll have everything you need to keep the filter element in top condition after a rain or as part of routine service.
Do you have to buy an adapter for a stock rig?

Just wondering if you need an additional adapter kit for this to fit on to? I haven't taken my air cleaner off yet but want to replace that big ugle triangle thing.
No, these air cleaner kits from Cobra do not require the purchase of any additional parts in order to facilitate an installation. That includes an adapter bracket for the intake. That said, you may wish to consider installing some sort of fueling adjustment device to get all the benefits of an improved air cleaner intake. We recommend the Cobra Fi2000 to go with any Cobra air intake kit.
