Muffler features advanced acoustical tuning technologies for a deep rumbling sounds. The 4" round muffler front expands near the rear to 4.5" diameter.
The matte titanium finish on the aluminum tip is matches the color of the stock bike's heat shields, and the satin black muffler includes a custom heat shield to smooth the transition from the stock head pipes to the Cobra muffler. The tip uses seven, 12-point bolts that also give the dished tip a distinctive, almost aircraft quality look.
The muffler comes with a 3" core encased in proprietary Cobra sound tuning materials with specific acoustical dampening and thermal insulation properties. The deep bass notes are made possible because of class-leading resonance absorption and prevention.
The frequency and location of the perforation patterns in the high-flo core creates significant sound scattering in the mid frequencies, which helps to enhance the low frequency tones. The high-flo core itself is a massive 3" in diameter which gives the muffler an aggressive look without the objectionable sound levels.

Relatively low cost compared to competitors. Deep rumbling sound is music to a motorcyclist - very satisfying. Also very easy to install. But on first dry fitting, it seemed to interfere with the swingarm, so I shimmed the attachment bracket with three washers to kick out the slip-on just a tad to miss the swingarm.

I just purchased the Cobra Slip-On for my 2015 Yamaha Bolt C-Spec to replace the original muffler. Exhaust came very quickly (Thank you Parts Giant). Muffler comes with all necessary parts to install but make sure your mesh exhaust gasket is in good shape before installing. Otherwise you will need to order a new one (Mine was fine but for others maybe not). Exhaust took me about 20 mins to install with no hiccups to speak of. With the new muffler, the bike sounds dramatically different. The sound at idle was worth the money I spent alone. The bike is definitely louder than stock but does not sound straight piped. Of note, I was advised not to buy the Cobra fuel controller with the muffler. My Yamaha dealer rep. stated that these are ,in his experience, unnecessary and tend to over fuel the bike with no other modifications. I have run my bike in its stock state of tune with the muffler and there are no lean conditions etc. Bike runs as good as it ever did. I will say on deceleration there will occasionally be a few pops but nothing excessive. My understanding is this is due to the change in back pressure not a fuel condition. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would do it again. With regards to my experience with Partsgiant, this was my first purchase through them and I was pleasantly surprised. I was skeptical because their prices were significantly lower than other retailers and they included free shipping. However shortly after my payment, my order was processed and shipped. Shipping was quick and I received the muffler not long after (2 days but may vary on your area). Overall I have been pleased with the muffler and my experience with Partsgiant. I will definitely be back for any future purchases.

Answer QuestionNo special socket is required. You'll probably need a 1/4" hex head to do the job. Yeah, I know - an exhaust fitted to a Metric bikie SHOULD use metric hardware, but Cobra likes to keep their part numbers on hand down to a minimum.

Answer QuestionNo, you won't be required to weld or otherwise permanently modify your machine in order to fit this exhaust to the Yamaha Bolt. You will need to re-use some of the OEM mounting hardware, such as the cast steel exhaust bracket, to fit the muffler. Otherwise, it's a straight-forward operation. So long as you have the original exhaust on hand, you have everything you need to fit this muffler to your bike.

Answer QuestionFor many slip-ons, it's often not required to modify fuel delivery upon installation of the exhaust. Most of the time, the OEM ECU can handle those changes pretty easily. No less, if you want to get the biggest possible power benefit out of the exhaust and the best throttler response, we do recommend that you adjust fuel delivery as well. For Cobra exhausts, we recommend the Cobra Fi2000R Fuel Tuner. They're easy to install, and very easy to configure as well. With the added tuner, you'll get the most out of that muffler.

Answer QuestionYes, there is a provision for attaching the OEM oxygen sensor to this Cobra exhaust for the Yamaha Bolt. All you need to do is pull that sensor off the stock Bolt exhaust and then thread it into the bung on this Cobra muffler and you're all set!

Answer QuestionYes, this exhaust ships with a removable baffle already installed in the muffler. There's little work to pulling it out, too. You can remove it with simple hand tools in less than a minute.
