Questions & Answers

Ask Question

How do you use it to remove wheel bearings?

The tool is pretty straight forward to use. All that's required is a Motion Pro Driver Rod for Split Collet Bearing Removal Tool and a hammer. First, you'll set the tool on a wooden block, then lower the wheel bearing to be removed over it. Next, lace the the wedge of the driver rod tool in the slot you see on the wheel bearing remover. Tap that whole thing with a hammer to get the wedge to expand and grip the inside diameter of the bearing. Once you've done that, left the wheel upright and gentle tap the bearing the rest of the way out. It's a pretty straightforward operation. Just take your time and you'll have no problem removing the bearing from your wheels(s).

Answer Question

will this bearing tool remove bearings from a 2007 Street Glide rim

In the case of a 2007 FLHX Street Glide, the OEM wheels shipped with a 1" diameter axle, so you'd need to find a tool in that size. Motion Pro doesn't sell the 1" split collet separately, so you'd have to source that as part of a complete kit in the form of a Motion Pro Radial Wheel Bearing Remover Set for Harley-Davidson motorcycles as that comes with both, the 1" collet, and the required driver rod.
