remval of radio controls in handle bar switch housing that no longer gets used with new aftermarket radio. i have a 1995 flhtc and want to install chrome switch housing covers. to accomplish this i must cut out volume controls can i just remove them inside the coversrs

If the volume controls are no longer connected to your FLHTC aftermarket radio, then I don't see any reason to retain them. You'd certainly still want to cover those holes with a suitable material in order to have a clean look, and also - to keep debris/weather from entering the control housing.
