Good quality, made a night & day difference in the response on my motorcycle, 960 pound bike. Very noticeable difference in the clutch handle, much stronger pull to hold at lights.

With my ride getting up there in mileage and a debilitating ability to produce any type of high rpm clutch grab, I decided to replace my clutch plates, including the diaphragm. So I gave this product a try when I had some spare money and I absolutely loved the results. It grabs instantly now and have yet to feel any slipping no matter how far I rev the throttle. I have recommended it to many R1 riders I know.

Purchased this to see if my bike's clutch would stop slipping on hard acceleration and sharpen up. Had it installed and tested the same evening. Got 400 miles on it and not a single problem so far. Much crisper response than before…wish I had installed it sooner.

Answer QuestionWithout having the bike here to examine, we can't say for certain, but at the least, it probably wouldn't hurt! If your Road Star 1700 clutch already has a lot of miles on it, a replacement clutch pack from Barnett may resolve the issue, but if you've got a machine making more power than stock, then yes, the coil spring conversion kit might just be the ticket to solve that problem.
By Tyler
Answer QuestionNo, there are no friction or steel separator plates included with the coil spring conversion kit. You are to re-use the OEM clutch friction components when installing this conversion kit on your bike.
By Nate
Answer QuestionYes, each coil spring conversion kit from Barnett comes with all required installation hardware and a set of easy-to-follow instructions. If your bike's clutch is stock, you should have no problem fitting this to your machine.
By Kevin
Answer QuestionWe only have the complete conversion kits available to us. Individual replacement hardware would need to be sourced from Barnett directly.

Answer QuestionBarnett Coil Spring Conversion Kit are designed only fit machines equipped with the OEM clutch basket or a Barnett clutch basket. They will not fit any aftermarket clutch components, including the Rekluse clutch kit.

Answer QuestionBarnett's Coil Spring Conversion Kits bolt straight into the OEM clutch basket without the need to permanently modify any parts on the V-Star 1100. The same is true for all other machines that it fits. If you're comfortable taking the wheels off your bike or changing out the V-Star 1100 clutch friction plates, you should have no problem installing this Yamaha clutch conversion kit on your machine.
