I have a 1999 Harley Fat Boy with split tanks. Not sure if I need vented or non-vented cap?

For tanks with two filler caps, you'll need one of each. The left side tank (when sat on the bike) uses the non-vented fuel cap that's reverse threaded. Harley designed the tanks this way since, when the bike is on its sidestand, the fuel cap would leak out of the cap if it were full enough. Hence the need for a non-vented left-side gas cap. Right-side gas caps are always vented and, if your bike only has one cap, it's most certainly a vented cap.
Does this cap screw into existing tank both sides no problems?

I have a split tank so I need two gas caps, does this cap just screw into the existing tank no problems?
These caps are designed specifically to fit the models we have listed as part of our Fitment Guarantee. So long as you have a standard Harley-Davidson type of tank, or at least a tank that accepts Harley-Davidson gas caps, you should have no problem installing this on your machine. Drag Specialties includes a tool for fitting these caps to your tank - everything you need is in the package.
Each cap is specifically designed to fit either the left (non-vented) or right (vented) gas cap on machines with two gas caps. The non-vented caps are reverse threaded, so be sure to choose accordingly.
