Batwing

I know this isn't as complicated as an engine rebuild, but some instructions would have been helpful. I do like the fairing, but the price is a tad high in terms of value. All in all, I don't regret it.
Fits:
$324.95 – $334.95

I bought this for its looks and to manage wind blast. This fairing achieves both perfectly. IT fits a little lower than I was expecting and I had to tweak my brake fluid reservoir placement slightly. Other than that, I love it. Looks awesome with the smoke spoiler windshield and black lower deflectors.

Yeah it's a little on the expensive side, but for my hour long commute to work at 70mph, and sometimes 35-50 degree weather, worth it! You will still need a good pair of gloves at those temps, but still amazing! The quick release mounting kit is a little awkward to get on the bike just perfectly, but works very well once installed. I originally bought a 5" black windshield, but save yourself the trouble and get a bigger one. The 5" doesn't stop any wind to your face. I'm only 6' tall, and am catching the main stream of wind right at my nose. A lot of buffering into the helmet too. I have a 9" spoiler windshield on order now, and will review that once I get a chance to use it.

Answer QuestionThe inner fairing is just a blank slate that's opposite of what's on the outside. While there are no provisions to fit a big stereo system with instruments &etc., you can add a Hogtunes Batwing radio kit that'll fit right into it pretty easily. The Hogtunes kit is ready-made to fit the Memphis Shades batwing as it was developed specifically to fit that fairing. It comes with everything you need to bolt it on and add it to your bating. Just don't forget, as noted on our website, this fairing requires a Memphis Shades Batwing Fairing Trigger Lock Mounting Kit to complete the installation of the Batwing fairing on any of the models listed to fit.

Answer QuestionThe Batwing fairing for the VTX1800F will indeed fit the VTX1800F2 model, but only if you purchase the Memphis Shades Batwing Trigger Lock mount kit for the VTX1800F as well. The fairing and the mount kit are sold separately. Please be sure to purchase both so as to have a successful installation!

Answer QuestionThese fairings weight approximately 13 pounds. Mind you, that doesn't include the weight of the Memphis Shades Batwing Fairing Trigger Lock Mounting Kit that you'll need to fix the Batwing to your bike. Depending on the machine it is that you have, the mount kit itself weighs anywhere between two and six pounds.

Answer QuestionSo long as the turn signals are in their stock location, you needn't worry about having to reposition your bike's turn signals. Also, so you're aware, the Honda Shadow ACE Batwing requires a model-specific Memphis Shades Batwing Fairing Trigger Lock Mounting Kit in order to complete the installation.

Answer QuestionWe have two different Memphis Shades Batwing Windshields available in our store. There's the standard Memphis Shades Batwing Windshield and the Memphis Shades Batwing Spoiler Windshield. The former is of a conventional shape while the latter provides a great deal more wind protection than from the looks of it. If there's a Memphis Shades Batwing Windshield that you want to look over without getting blasted by wind, you could choose the Spoiler Windshield as it does an excellent job of moving air up and over the rider despite its short height.

Answer QuestionMemphis Shades Bat Wing fairings for the Dyna Super Glide do not come with a provision for attaching a radio. The inner-facing side is just a blank of the forward-facing side. The good news is that Hog Tunes does produce a speaker kit that's specifically designed to bolt into the inner-facing side of the Memphis Shades Batwing fairing. You can find it in the form of the Hogtunes Memphis Shades Batwing Fairing Bolt-On Audio Kit. With that, you'll be able to pipe in tunes from any device that'll support a 1/8" headphone jack.

Answer QuestionAs the Memphis Shades Vulcan 900 Batwing fairing fits a tremendous variety of motorcycles, the mounting kits must be purchased separately to assure a perfect fit. We have those available to fit your bike in the form of the VB900B Memphis Shades Batwing Fairing Trigger Lock Mounting Kit. With that, you'll get a solid mount for your Kawasaki Vulcan Batwing that also offers the ability to quickly remove it should you desire a little more wind in your face on a particular ride. In addition, don't forget to have a look at the windscreens we have on offer as well. There are two different versions in the form of the traditionally-shaped Memphis Shades Batwing Windshield and the Memphis Shades Batwing Spoiler Windshield.

Answer QuestionMemphis Shades produces two different windshields that will fit the Batwing Fairing. You can select either: the standard Memphis Shades Batwing Windshield or the Memphis Shades Batwing Spoiler Windshield. The former windshield has a traditional shape while the Spoiler variant does an excellent job of moving air up and over the rider without buffeting. It's a really nice windshield for longer rides.

Answer QuestionNo, there's no windscreen included with the Batwing fairing as Memphis Shades makes a variety of different colors in two different styles to fit. You can choose between the Memphis Shades Batwing Spoiler Windshield or the standard Memphis Shades Batwing Windshield. Also, as is noted in the item description, you'll need to purchase a model-specific Memphis Shades Batwing Fairing Trigger Lock Mounting Kit in order to fit the fairing to your bike.

Answer QuestionIt really depends on how wide those bars you have happen to be and furthermore, how they're positioned (angled) on the risers. That said, for your bike - the Batwing fairing measures 36-1/2" at its widest point and it's certainly better at moving air around your hands and chest than the stock windscreen that the bike ships with from the factory. You'll notice that I've attached an image giving you the overall dimensions of the fairing to help you understand how it'll be positioned on your bike. Also, be sure to get the proper windshield to go along with that fairing. Memphis shades produces two windscreens to fit: the standard Batwing Fairing Windshield and the Spoiler Windshield. If you were to choose the same height between the two windshields, the latter unit does a better job of deflecting wind when compared the standard variant. It's something to keep in mind when selecting a windshied for your specific needs. Mind you, as is noted on our website, you'll need to purchase a set of mounting brackets to go along with that windshield. You can find that on our website here. You'll notice that those brackets indicate "Fats or Slims ... " but I can assure you that those are the correct mounts to go along with the Batwing Fairing on FLHR models. They actually re-use some the OEM windshield mounting hardware. So long as that hardware is still on your machine, you'll have everything you need to get the whole fairing mounted up on your bike.

Answer QuestionNo, the inside is rather plain and does not have provision for radios or other equipment. You could probably do it with quite a bit of fabrication work, but these fairings don't lend themselves to a simple radio installation.

Answer QuestionMemphis Shades does not offer the Batwing fairing or mounts kits necessary to complete an install to the FXSB. Memphis Shades does offer a Bullet fairing and mounts for that particular bike. Simply search our store for "Memphis Shades Bullet Fairing FXSB Breakout" and "Bullet Fairing Trigger Lock Mount Kit FXSB Breakout" and you'll see exactly what we have for you.

Answer QuestionMemphis Shades' Batwing Fairing will indeed fit your Honda VTX1300S with the fork covers installed. The mount kit is model specific and mounts directly to the triple trees on that model. You can find the model-specific mount kits in our store in either a black or polished aluminum finish.
