Each Arlen Ness Deep Cut Inverted Series air cleaner combines the patented Big Sucker technology with an inverted filter top that maximizes airflow by pulling in air from the face of the air cleaner, as well as the traditional method of pulling air from the sides. Each kit is machined entirely from forged billet aluminum to provide the best performance and style.
Each air cleaner measures 5-3/8" wide at the outermost portion where the taper ends. The backing itself plate is 7-1/2" wide and the air cleaner is about 3-3/4" thick. The opening in the middle is 3" wide where it begins to taper inward.

Answer QuestionIt's a rather straight forward operation. Arlen Ness recommends examining the air cleaner every 5,000 miles and then cleaning it at least every 10,000 miles. You are to go about cleaning the element as follows: 1. Tap the filter element to dislodge loose debris and brush remaining loose debris from filter. 2. Clean filter using water and a mild degreaser like Simple Green or Formula 409. 3. Do not use gasoline, brake cleaner or other harsh chemicals to clean the filter media. These products will erode the filter media. Always inspect filter media and gasket seal for deterioration. Replace filter as needed. 4. Shake off excess water and allow filter to thoroughly dry prior to riding. Do not use compressed air to dry. Special note: Do not oil the filter media.
