One of the studs broke off with hardly any force. A good stud would usually hold up to excessive force if it were applied. The nut should strip first. The light works great in spite of the poor quality of the studs.

If the new LED lights just plug into the bulb socket, can I buy just the LED light and change it without changing the entire light housing?
There's no separate bulb in the LED taillight housing, but rather - a complete LED board. If you'd rather just use a bulb, check out the Kuryakyn 1156 or 1157 LED bulb. With one of those, you'll be able to add LED taillight functionality without replacing the entire taillight housing.
Is your light the size as the original light already installed and will my chrome cover fit the same on your light?
Or does the bulb just plugin where the other one is now?

As for the size and shape of the unit, it's designed to be identical to the OEM taillight housing on the machine you select from our fit guide. You won't have any problem fitting that chrome cover you have. The LED board itself plugs straight into the OEM light sock, so installation is a breeze.

That's correct, you can simply plug the light unit into the OEM socket on the models we have listed. There's no need to cut or modify the OEM wire harness in order to have it fit any of the bikes in our fit menu.
