Wiring is simple if you do some google-fu. Accurate tach, not bouncy. Very pleased

Questions & Answers

Ask Question

Does this come with an instruction manual?

Yes, these tachometers are shipped with a set of instructions. It's rather simple to wire these up to your bike. The green wire is your tachometer source line, which will attach directly to the negative terminal on your ignition coil in a dual fire ignition. This is standard on most Harley Davidson motorcycles. The negative side of the coil is the side leading to the ignition module. On stock bikes, this is usually a blue or pink wire. The positive side supplies 12 V DC from the ignition switch. Models with single fire ignitions will need the tachometer adapter which we have for 33.95. The Red wire will be your 12 V DC source for the LED back-lit display. Please note the LEDs are not replaceable in this unit. The Black wire will be your ground, which can be attached directly to the frame. The easiest spot would be the coil mount fastener. A good ground is critical for proper operation of the tach, the battery would be the ideal ground point.
