Nice product!

By   on  Verified Purchaser

Completely checked pushrods top to bottom, looks like an adjustable pushrod with no blemishes. Installed push rods without a hitch, however, exhaust push rod on front cylinder was hitting push rod tube at the top. It looks like I'll be able to ream out the pushrod tube for enough clearance. The alignment issue is more than likely caused from decking heads and using a .030 head gasket. The push rods also appear to be bigger on the outside diameter than stock. All in all good product. Just remember, these are not quick installs. You've got to remove the rocker cover and rockers to install them.

Questions & Answers

Ask Question

Will these pushrods work well in a 1996 evo with ev-27 cam and crane beehive springs with crane lifers stock heads and valves

In a word, absolutely. S&S pushrods are stronger and more durable than the OEM 'rods that they replace and they'll work with a wide variety of lifters, Crane lifters included.

Answer Question

Planning on installing the andrews EV27 in my bike. What's the difference between these pushrods, and the s&s quickee pushrods?

With the Quickee pushrods, you won't need to remove the lifter block in order to complete the installation, which is rather convenient. In the case of other adjustable pushrod sets we have, you're going to need to do a lot more work in order to complete the installation. You save quite a bit of time with the Quickee pushrods. Otherwise, as far as quality and longevity is concerned, unless you're doing a massive engine build and going for big power - the Quickee pushrods are the way to go. Of course, in the instance you are doing a big job and you're already taking the engine apart, the nice thing about the standard adjustable pushrods is that they're lighter and there's one less point of (potential) failure. So, from a reliability standpoint, and that's not to say the Quickee rods are bad, because they're not - if you're looking to eliminate any potential failure point, the standard adjustable pushrods would be the way to go.

Answer Question

What would be a recomended push rod cover for this application ?

I'm planning to install a S&S 509 Gear Drive Touring Cam Kit and S&S Adjustable Pushrod Set in my 2000 FLHT and I guess I need a different style of covers for the push rods.

You're indeed correct in that, you'll need 84-99 pushrod covers in order to install the adjustable pushrods on your bike. While you could buy the covers separately, your best bet would be to purchase an S&S Quickee Pushrod Conversion Kit instead. It has everything you need to get the job done and will certainly go well with those cams.
