Cobra Drag Pipes Exhaust System

Drag pipes have always been a favorite because of their overall simplicity and clean lines. But unless you're going full throttle all the time, they're not the most functional. That's where Cobra's drag exhaust comes in. It gives you that same straight pipe look, but also includes their removable power cores for better tuning, sound and overall performance.

And there's no need to worry if you decide to do a little dragging and get these pipes really hot. That's because they also feature Cobra's signature triple-layer chrome heat shields that always shine.

Excellent fit and sound great. Loud, but not obnoxious.

Overall great product

By   on  Verified Purchaser

The pipes look great. However the package should include new nuts and gaskets so it can be a complete install.

2003 Shadow Ace 750 pipe install

By   on  Verified Purchaser

The worst instructions I have ever received in my life for a product installation. Luckily, I already knew what I was doing since it wasn't my first install. Well packaged and damage free. Would have been nice if it came with new exhaust nuts. Everything fits well and is at a level of loudness that isn't too much, but enough to make traffic notice you.

Great fit, finish and...they sound great.

Really woke up my Vstar 650.

By   on  Verified Purchaser

Was gonna sell my Vstar 650. Put these pipes on and a stage 2 jet and pod kit (bought elsewhere). Now why sell it? Sounds fantastic and runs like a new one. Love my Cobra Drag Pipes. Just note that the front pipe uses the stock headpipe and the rest is a slip on pipe. Mounted up easily and they cost less.

Excellent company excellent product

By   on  Verified Purchaser

Excellent product, bike sounds great and no popping even without the baffles. I would recommend this product to anyone and I was amazed getting my pipes the day after I ordered them.

Cobra slash cut drag pipes

By   on  Verified Purchaser

Bought these pipes to replace my stock exhaust on my v star 650. With a quick and easy rejet of the carbs and the installation of these Cobra pipes, the difference is unbelievable. Changed the entire personality of the motorcycle. Runs so much better now that it can breath. Didn't need to remove the baffles from the pipes to get a nice deep rumble from them. Called the techs at parts giant before the order. Very helpful and knowledgeable of the products they are selling. 100 percent satisfaction with both the product and parts giant. I will be a returning customer for my future mods for my motorcycle.

2008 Kawasaki Mean Streak w/Cobra Drag Pipes

By   on

Love the sound, deep and throaty. Fairly easy to install. The only thing I didn't care for was the fact that they did not come with mounting plates at the top of the pipe. I had to cut and use the stock plates to mount. It seemed to work very well.

2006 Kawasaki Vulcan woke up and will wake you up.

By   on  Verified Purchaser

I bought this 2006 Vulcan Classic as a fun solo bike with 50's looks. When I am not riding my Harley Ultra Limited. Cobra Drag pipes are easy to install and fit perfect, sound perfect and look the part. Also added score fuel tuner. Perfect combo. By the way Parts Giant is Number One.

Sounds great super loud

Well worth the money

By   on

Pipes sound and look great.I did get confused on how the supplied bracket was supposed to be positioned and spent about 20 minutes more than it should have took. I was rushing it was getting dark no fault on Cobra. Once they were on a night and day difference. They gave off a nice rumble. Now my bike sounds like a motorcycle not a moped. Well worth the money.

Sweet pipes!

By   on

These pipes are sweet! With around 600 miles on the exhaust, I have not had any of the discoloration issues that I've read elsewhere. I did use chrome polish and buffed after installing, but maybe it has something to do with the tune as well. The head bolts were a little too short for my liking, so I grabbed longer ones from the hardware store. Great so far.

First time buyer, and the product made up for an unusual experience.

By   on  Verified Purchaser

This is a parts review, but has extra info to inform the customer. After a long and exhaustive search (pardon the pun) for ANYTHING parts related for my 96 Honda Shadow, due to a total and complete LACK of aftermarket performance options... I LOCATED THE BEST PIPES POSSIBLE AT PARTS GIANT!!! Yay!!! Woohoo!!! They also had the Jet Kit and Gaskets available, double cha-ching! The pipes were also $50 under what the original Manufacturer had listed as MSRP. They even had Ebay beat on this one. I ordered them right away on a Thursday morning, hoping this would be delivered in time for the following weekend so that I could put them on when I was off work. About an hour after placing my order, I got a phone call from a Michigan number saying they were Parts Giant. I was at work and couldn't answer. Queue me calling back several times trying to find out what could have possibly already happened with no answer, so I left a message. Hours go by and no return call. I call again later, finally get an answer with an hour and a half remaining in their work day, per the website. I ask for the guy that called, was advised they were one of three people working the warehouse at any given time (seems low for a parts... GIANT) and to hang on a minute. 15 mins later this other guy picks up; He has me verify ALL of my information, then advises that since the billing and shipping addresses don't match that I would need to wait a week for some kind of approval request to be processed since the order was over $400, unless I would be okay shipping to the billing address. That is our family home over an hour away from my current residence. An inconvenience, yes, but I just want my parts to finish out the summer right, sorry I don't want to wait a week for possibly incorrect parts since the reviews from people wanting to return are horrendous. He goes on to advise that they might be in separate packages too, I begrudgingly agree and we part ways on the phone. Star-wipe to two days later; One giant package arrives at my original shipping address. It has everything I ordered. In one package. At my house. WHY DID WE JUST GO THROUGH ALL THAT?!? lol hilariously annoying. ANYWAYS. Pipes were in great shape, a little oxidation internally, but no scratches or scuffs on the chrome. The construction of the pipes is strange in that the exhaust piper chamfer profile, where it connects to the exhaust port, is SIGNIFICANTLY larger i/e 5mm stock to 1 inch+ with these. It looks weird and fits odd in that it is way further away from the surface of contact for the stock flanges and might put stress on the studs? I have no idea, I'm no engineer. Will advise for problems in the future. In the mean time, I stripped the double-ended studs and bolts for the rear cylinder head due to this goofy fitting. Once I get this resolved I should be okay. Something holding it in place momentarily only resulted in a small exhaust leak, but I can not re-iterate this part enough. DURING THE MOCK-UP STAGE, THESE THINGS SOUNDED FANTASTIC. I have no need to remove the baffles since these suckers are LOUD. However, once I resolve the bolt issue and provide an update, that review may include an open-piped update. Fair warning, I'm scared. Volume-related opinions aside, these sound beautiful. Honda built this line-up to replicate and even improve the cruiser style & performance brought by Harley. Well, to appease the hippies and remain compliant, the sound and exhaust pollution had to be restricted by the stock exhaust. If Honda brought us the eggs and potatoes with the smooth ride and nimble performance of the shadow, THESE PIPES ARE THE BACON AND CORN BEEF HASH. The sound is reminiscent of big Milwaukee twins with that old-school chopper sound. Rich and velvety. There is no tinny shimmer in the tone that replicates a knife in your ear after 10 mins of riding. It has the auditory equivalent of chocolate cake or texas brisket. It plain and flat-out sounds great. Better than great. Perfect. So, with volume great and sound quality great, all that’s left to do is rebuild, jet and pray before digging it. Thank you PARTS GIANT! You may have stumbled, but came out on top!!!

Five Star

By   on

I recently ordered a set of Cobra Drag Pipes and they are stellar. I’ve been holding off in hopes of getting a larger bike, but broke down and bought these and I haven’t had a single thought of regret. Great and loud sound when you really get on the throttle but it quiets down a bit to a low rumble when you’re at cruising speed. Easy install.

Questions & Answers

Ask Question

what jet kit would work well with the exhaust on a 05 v star 650 clasic

We have a Dynojet Stage 1 kit available for that 2005 V-Star 650 Classic that would work well with the Drag Pipes. You can find it by search Dynojet Jet Kit on our website.

By Andy
Answer Question

For the vstar 650 is it a complete exhaust

The one review says the stock head pipe has to be used but if it's a full system why do I have to use my front pipe

They call is a full system but yes, you would need to reuse the stock front headpipe for the V-Star 650 applications.

By Andy
Answer Question

I just ordered this Cobra Exhaust, what Jet kit should I get with it for my 99 Honda Shadow VT1100C?

I would suggest the Dynojet Carburetor Jet Kit for your bike with that exhaust system. Simply search for Dynojet Carburetor Jet Kit and choose your 1999 Honda VT1100C Shadow Spirit.

By Andy
Answer Question

Will they fit a 2002 honda shadow 750 ace with cobra floor borads

Absolutely! Cobra floorboards are designed to work with all Cobra exhausts. You won't have any problems fitting these Drag pipes on the 2002 Honda VT750CD Shadow 750 A.C.E.!

By Staff
Answer Question

I have a 1997 suzuki 1400 intruder will these cobra drag pipes fit?

Yes, if you were to select the 1997 Suzuki VS1400GLF Intruder 1400 drag pipe exhaust system from our fit guide, you'd receive the correct exhaust to fit your bike.

By Staff
Answer Question

These are full exhaust system they hook up to the head?

Yes, this is indeed a full exhaust system that hooks up to the heads on any of the machines listed in our fit guide.

By Staff
Answer Question

What jet kit would I need for a 2000 shadow 1100

The best jet kit to go with any Cobra exhaust would be a Cobra Jet Kit as they're developed specifically to work on machines equipped with a Cobra exhaust. Just be sure to choose the correct one for your exact bike as they do vary from the Spirit, Aero and Sabre models for the 2000 model year VT1100 Shadow range.

By Staff
Answer Question

I have a 2006 Honda shadow vt1100c it is already fitted with cobra exhaust but there not drag pipes do I still need to jet the carburetor?

As long as the bike is already jetted for the exhaust, a complete re-jet would not be necessary. You may have to fine tune the carb but in most cases it will run just fine with an exhaust swap.

By Staff
Answer Question

Do these come with the exhaust gaskets as well

Cobra exhaust systems will not include any exhaust gaskets. Depending on what model you have we may have them available in our store in the gasket section. It is always recommended to replace them, in certain instances they can be reused if necessary.

By Staff
Answer Question

Will this fit an 05 suzuki blvd vs1400

Unfortunately, this Cobra exhaust will not fit a 2005 Suzuki VS1400 Boulevard S83. Cobra only offers one exhaust system to fit that particular model. It is a pair of slip-on mufflers. Can you find them by searching "Cobra Two-Sided Slashcut Slip-On Exhaust" in our store search bar.

By Staff
Answer Question

I have a 2018 Honda shadow VT750 will these fit my bike?

Unforutuantely, Cobra does not produce a set of Drag Pipes that are compatible with the 2018 model VT750 Shadow. They do offer a set of Dragsters, Streetrod and Streetrod Slashdown pipes for the Honda VT750C2B Shadow 750 Phantom. You can find those exhaust options for by searching our store for "Cobra Streetrod Exhaust System" "Cobra Dragster Exhaust System" "Cobra Streetrod Slashdown Exhaust System" Hopefully that helps you in the hunt for new pipes to fit your ride.

By Staff
Answer Question

Do I need to re-jet on a 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan VN800A if it already had a K&N style air filter already on it when I bought it or would that depend on leaving baffles in or out?

I hear a lot about baffles and jetting and I know it is best to tune accordingly and not everyone"s ear wants the same sound.

If you're going from a bike with a completely stock exhaust to a full system, you certainly want to re-jet your bike. The difference in fuel delivery is significant if you expect your bike to run correctly. That is to say, it's not so much about sound as it is about engine power and throttle response. Rider comfort too, comes into play if you were to leave the carburetor in stock configuration as the lean-running condition will mean a hotter running engine. And with you above that engine, you'll probably notice the extra heat. The good news is that Cobra developed the perfect jet kit to go along with this exhaust in the form of the Cobra Carburetor Jet Kit for the Vulcan 800. It's been engineered specifically to work with their exhaust systems and, the included instructions explain exactly how to go about configuring it to your bike's exact needs. If your bike has stock fueling, you will want to re-jet it in order to get the most out of the new exhaust. Cobra's jet kit will take care of you in that department!

By Staff
Answer Question

Is it bad on your bike to remove to baffles?

Sure, if you want loud, then by all means, the baffles can be removed. Just be sure to adjust fuel delivery to suit so that you don't lean things out too much. With proper fuel delivery, it really doesn't matter whether or not your exhaust has the baffles installed.

By Staff
Answer Question

Does these pipes fit a 97 Honda Shadow 1100 ace

Drag Pipes from Cobra are no longer available for the Shadoww 1100 ACE, so this particular system won't fit your machine. We do have a few options available for the 1997 Honda VT1100C2 Shadow 1100 A.C.E. from MAC and Vance & Hines. In terms of appearance, for the tips at least - the closest we have would be a set of MAC Staggered Slash Cut Dual Full Exhaust System for Shadow 1100 ACE. If you're more interested in a set of pipes that are the same diameter from tip to tail, check out our Shadow 1100 ACE MAC Slash-Back Staggered Drag Pipes.

By Staff
Answer Question

95 shadow ace 1100c2

I have a 95 shadow ace 1100 would they fit

Unfortunately, Cobra doesn't make a set of drag pipes to fit the VT1100C2 Shadow ACE. We do, however, have a set of MAC Slash-Back Staggered Drag Pipes that will fit your bike. The MAC exhaust is of the same style with a constant pipe diameter from headers to muffler tips. And, unless your bike is already jetting for a full exhaust system, about the only thing you'll need to put the MAC pipes on your bike is a stage 1 Dynojet carburetor jet kit.

By Staff
Answer Question

Do you have to to wrap these pipes

There's no need to wrap any pipes that CObra makes. Typically, exhaust wrap is reserved for those looking to reduce the heat you feel on the bike or, anyone looking to maximize exhaust gas temperature for performance needs (eg. drag racing). Otherwise, you don't have to wrap these pipes to put them on your bike.

By Staff
Answer Question

Will this fit on a 95 vt1100 ACE?

Unfortunately, Cobra no longer produces an exhaust to fit the 1995 Shadow ACE 1100. About the closest exhaust we have in comparison to the Drag Pipes from Cobra comes in the form of the MAC Staggered Slash Cut Dual Full Exhaust System or the Vance & Hines Straightshots Exhaust System.

By Staff
Answer Question

I have an 88 suzuki intruder 1400. The elevation where im at is just over 4000 feet. Do you have a part number for the rejet kit i would need?

For that particular machine and altitude combination, we recommend a Cobra jet kit. The components within will get you close, it may even work just fine. There's only one way to find out, really, and that's to try the jet kit along with the exhaust. Based upon that, you'll know whether or not you need to go with a different jet or not. Still, for the time being, starting off with the Cobra Jet kit will get you in the ball park. Based upon your experience with that, if you find the bike isn't quite there yet, give us a ring and we'll be happy to help you find the correct jets to get it running perfectly.

By Staff
Answer Question

I just bought a 2002 v star 650 classic

The guy I bought the bike from cut off the old exhaust and it backfires a lot and bogs down when I first take off will these pipes help with that?? And I'm not sure but I may need to clean my carbs?? Right??

Having a V-Star 650 full length exhaust would help somewhat. But, more critically, you'd want to have the bike properly jetted for the higher flow exhaust in order to ensure proper fuel delivery. To do that, we recommend a Vstar 650 Cobra Carburetor Jet Kit kit as it comes with a range of components to help you get the right jetting. Plus, the included instructions do an excellent job of explaining exactly how to install the jet kit parts for your machine's specific configuration and power delivery characteristics.

By Staff
Answer Question

do you have a system that will fit a 1995 kawasaki vulcan 750?

Cobra doesn't produce any exhausts to fit the 1995 VN750 Vulcan 750. To get a pipe to fit that bike, check out the MAC Staggered Taper Tip Dual Full Exhaust System for the Vulcan 750 or the VN750 Kawasaki Vance & Hines Cruzers Exhaust System for that bike. Both of those systems will bolt straight up to your Vulcan 750 without issue.

By Staff
Answer Question

I have a 02 ace deluxe I ordered drag pipes from y'all now I've ordered a spike air cleaner and I need to know what stage jet kit I need

A Shadow 750 stage 1 jet kit would work fine for your needs since they're designed to work on machines equipped with an aftermarket exhaust system and/or a modified intake system. In fact, a Cobra Jet Kit would be most suitable for your needs. It comes with everything you need for proper fuel delivery in one box and is specifically designed to work with Cobra Honda Shadow Deluxe 750 exhausts.

By Staff
Answer Question

What size jets do you i need for a 2001 honda shadow 600 vlx

Cobra recommends a main jet size in the range of 118 up to 130 to go along with this Shadow 600 exhaust system. Particularly, if you're below 3,000 feet ASL, they recommend you start at a 126 size. If above that altitude, 122 or smaller is advised. You'll also want acquire adjustable fuel needle. Or better yet, you could go with a Cobra Carburetor Honda Shadow Jet kit which comes with everything you need to get your bike dialed-in for this exhaust.

By Staff
Answer Question

will this fit a 2003 honda VT600CD

Yes, the standard Shadow 600 and the Deluxe variant share the same exhaust system. For that reason, if you were to select the 2003 VT600C Shadow 600 VLX from our fit guide, you'd get the correct exhaust to fit your bike as well.

By Staff
Answer Question

Does this exhaust system fit on a 1999 Honda Magna VF750C? I've looked everywhere and I exhausts for the shadow keep popping up.

Cobra doesn't produce a full exhaust system to fit the Magna. I checked with all of our suppliers, but the only thing we can get for that bike comes in the form the Cobra Slashcut Slip-On mufflers. There simply isn't anything else we can get, exhaust-wise, to fit that bike.

By Staff
Answer Question

I have a 2001 honda shadow 600 vlx do i have to rejet the carb and if i do what size jets

Yes, you'll want to rejet your Honda Shadow 600 upon installing this, or any other full exhaust system that we have. The OEM fuel delivery would have your bike missing at partial throttle settings and stumbling any time you grabbed a handful as it's far too lean. Depending on where you spend most of your time riding, ideal jet sizes would be anywhere from 118 to 130. To be sure you get everything you'll need for proper fuel delivery, we recommend the Cobra Carburetor Shadow 600 VLX Jet Kit to go along with any Cobra exhaust. Since they're developed in tandem, you get all the parts required (jets, needle, E-clip &etc.) to get the most power benefit out of the installation of any Cobra exhaust.

By Staff
Answer Question

What jet kit should i use for these pipes on a 2011 yamaha vstar 650 custom

For any Cobra exhaust, we recommend a Cobra V-Star 650 jet kit to go along with. The jet kits themselves are designed specifically to work with these exhausts as they're developed together to produce the best possible engine performance and throttle response.

By Staff
Answer Question

i have a 2002 honda saber VT1100 C2 will these Cobra fit?

Unfortunately, Cobra doesn't make a set of drag pipes to fit the VT1100C2 Shadow Sabre. We do, however, have three different full exhaust systems available that'll fit. They come in the form of a Vance & Hines Shadow Sabre Longshots Original Exhaust System, VT1100C2 Cobra Classic Deluxe Slashcut Exhaust System and the Sabre 1100 Shadow Vance & Hines Pro Pipe HS 2-into-1 Exhaust System.

By Staff
Answer Question

I have a 2003 suzuki inteuder volusia 800 and im thinking about getting the cobra drag pipes. Do i need a power commander even though my bike is fuel injected i see you guys carry the fi2000 powerpro but none of them are compatible with my year bike.

Since the 2003 Volusia 800 is a carbureted bike, you'll want to use a Cobra Carburetor Jet kit to adjust fuel delivery. There are no Power Commanders or Cobra Fi2000 kits available to fit that bike.

By Staff
Answer Question

Re-jetting motor

What do you recommend re-jetting kit wise for these drag pipes on a 2003 suzuki intruder volusia 800

The best jet kit to go with any Suzuki Volusia Cobra exhaust comes in the form of a Cobra Jet Kit. Since those Volusia jet kits are developed in conjunction with a Cobra exhaust, they've got everything you need to get the most of the new exhaust system.

By Staff
Answer Question

When purchasing these does that include the set of both pipes or are these sold per pipe?

Cobra Drag Pipes full exhaust systems are sold in pairs. You will receive two complete sets of pipes, from the cylinder heads all the way to the Cobra exhaust tips with your purchase.

By Staff
Answer Question

When you say the baffles are removeable, what exactly does this mean? Because most baffles are welded in. Does this have screws or something to remove to get them out?

In the case of Cobra's Drag Pipes, each baffle is secured with a set screw. Usually, the screw is located on the inner-facing side of the tailpipe where it isn't visible from most viewing angles. The baffles themselves have a nut welded in place which makes removing or installing them a quick, simple affair.

By Staff
Answer Question

What all do I need if I want to replace my stock pipes with something similar to these? I was told that I needed to change my carburetor and other things to do with my fuel system.

Just about every exhaust we sell comes with all the required mounting hardware, although you may need to re-use some of the stock exhaust brackets and bolts in order to complete the installation. There are no fuel tuning components included with any exhausts from our suppliers. With regarding to changing your carburetor, we highly recommend a Cobra Jet Kit to go along with any Cobra exhaust that we sell, be it a slip-on or a complete exhaust system. Since those kits are developed specifically to work with Cobra pipes, they come with everything you need to get your bike running with the best possible throttle response and engine power output. The easy-to-follow instructions do an excellent job of explaining how to get the most out of the kit, from setting up a baseline to fine-tuning your carburetor to your specific machine's needs.

Answer Question

are these pipes going to be loud even though they have baffles

If you want loud Cobra exhaust pipes, you're looking at the correct exhaust system! As a general rule, Drag Pipes are some of the loudest exhausts you can buy for your motorcycle. This is due to the fact that they have minimal baffling and don't have a larger muffler area common on other exhausts. For these reasons, Cobra Drag Pipes tend to be particularly loud and especially if you remove the baffles.

Answer Question

Dimensions?

I'm trying to calculate how much exhaust wrap I need to wrap these pipes, will 50' worth of 2" exhaust wrap be sufficient? I'm looking at an online calculator to figure it out.

To do it right, you'll need about 100 feet of 2" wide Drag Specialties Exhaust Wrap Kit. With that, you'll have plenty of wrap to get it all done.

Answer Question

I have a Suzuki M50, will Cobra give me more sound?

YES! All of Cobra's full exhaust systems provide more sound than the stock exhaust they're designed to replace. You will notice the engine will be significantly louder upon the installation of these Drag Pipes.

Answer Question

Would this sound better than the classic slash cuts? Does it compromise performance?

That's hard to say since sound is a rather subjective subject. It really depends on what kind of exhaust tone you're looking for. If you want something that's loud and sharp - then yes, Cobra's Drag Pipes are the way to go. If you really wanted to go all-out, simple pull the removable baffles which are included with each exhaust and you'll probably wake the dead. As far as performance goes - it really depends on what state of tune your bike happens to be in. If it's carbureted, you'll certainly want to adjust jetting in order to get the best possible engine performance and throttle response. Cobra makes the perfect jet kit to go with any of their exhausts. If your bike happens to be fuel injected, then you couldn't possibly go wrong with an Fi2000 PowrPro. With that tuner, it's just a matter of plugging it in and it'll figure out how to best fuel your bike, 80 times per second for maximum performance.

Answer Question

Does it come with mounting hardware for the pipes?

Would these pipes come with the bracket to mount the pipes to my frame or is that a separate purchase?

If the stock exhaust is what you have installed on your machine, then you'll have everything you need to get the Drag Pipes put on your bike. All required mounting hardware and brackets are included with Cobra's exhausts to make installation as easy as possible. Keep in mind, however, you may need to re-use some of your bike's OEM bolts, spacers and/or washers that attached the stock exhaust system to your bike for fitting the exhaust. Also, there are no exhaust valve gaskets included, but if the original items are in good shape, you can certainly re-use them for the new pipes.

Answer Question

I have a 1999 Honda Shadow Spirit and have a set of Longshots fitted to my bike. I like them, but they're a little too loud and have very little back pressure. Do you carry an exhaust that I could put on that are not too loud and have good back pressure?

As a general rule, drag style pipes are probably the loudest pipes you can find as they're of a narrow diameter and have the standard baffles in them. In the case of the VT1100C Shadow Spirit exhaust, Cobra does not produce a set of Drag Pipes to fit that bike. In your case, the best pipes for your needs would be a Vance & HInes Classic II Exhaust System. They're baffled and have a rather mellow sound when compared to straight drag pipes, but without too harsh of a bark.

Answer Question

Do i need to re jet or use a power commander on a fuel injector bike Boulevard C50T?

You could probably install this exhaust without a Power Commander and the bike would run, but to get the best possible power output and throttle response, it's always best to adjust fueling accordingly. Basically, any time you change the way fuel or air gets into or out of the engine, you'll want to tune the bike to match. This way, there will be no stumbling at certain throttle position/speed combinations.

Answer Question

Hey. I am rebuilding my Vulcan 1500 that I bought with engine problems. I don't know what rejetting is. Can you please guve me details? I never rebuilt an engine and I am finding out things as I go. I need pipes for my bike but now I am uncertain how to go about this. Thanks.

While you can probably get away with installing this Cobra exhaust by itself, to get the best possible throttle response and engine performance, it's always best to install a jet kit. Basically, any time you change the way air moves into or out of the engine, you'll want to adjust the air fuel ratio accordingly to maximize any performance gains available from the new exhaust. You can find the right jet kit to go with this exhaust and your motorcycle by searching our store for "Cobra Carburetor Jet Kit" YouTube has a plethora of information regarding carburetors and jetting, I would suggest looking over some videos of how to rejet the carb on your Vulcan 1500. It's not terribly difficult to do, but does require a fair level of mechanical skill. We do have service manuals available that explain a great deal of tasks, from basic to advanced, for keeping your bike up and running. You can find those manuals by searching our store for "Clymer Shop Repair Manual"

Answer Question

If I leave baffles in do i have to rejet carbs? I own a 2004 Honda Shadow Spirit VT1100C.

While you can probably get away with installing the Drag Pipes exhaust system by itself and leaving the baffles in, to get the best possible throttle response and engine performance, it's always best to get some sort of fueling modification device. Basically, any time you change the way air gets into or out of, the motor, you'll want to adjust jetting appropriately to maximize any performance gains available from the new setup.
