Cobra Streetrod Slashdown Exhaust System

You don't have to be one of the big boys in order to hang with them. That was the inspiration behind Cobra's Streetrod exhausts. Built specifically for the middleweight, mid-displacement bikes out there, this system is engineered to squeeze everything it can out of them and look serious doing it.

These aren't just cut-down versions of their bigger systems. Each is scaled proportionately to look and fit right and then tuned specifically to give you more boost and performance. And they offer many of the same things you'll find in big bike systems, including machined aluminum billet tips and full-length, triple-layer chrome heat shields.

Mid-sized cruisers are popular for a reason, and with a new set of Streetrods, you've just been given several more.

Amazing sound

Amazing sound! You won't believe how your bike rumbles with these pipes!

Amazing!

By   on  Verified Purchaser

Completely new bike, easily mistaken for a Harley, sounds like a monster. Really loud which I'm not complaining. Cobra is the way to go on a VL800 c50

Awesome upgrade Cobra Exhaust

Awesome sounds

By   on  Verified Purchaser

This was easy to install and made the bike sound fantastic. Honda Shadow Phantom which sounded anemic from the factory now roars.

Need big sound... Little bike

By   on  Verified Purchaser

Wow. Sounds really good. But I'm gonna re-jet the carb just for final touch. Maybe have a little less backfire on decelerating. Turned this puddle jumper into getting it done.

Just how I like my women...long, gorgeous, loud, and possibly crazy

By   on  Verified Purchaser

Pros: Beautiful chrome, fit (*mostly), and finish. Paired with Cobra jet kit, I'm shocked at the difference in power delivery. Much lighter package than my stock piglets. Very easy to install, clear directions. The SOUND. The tone is awesome, I think they call them street rods because, yep, sounds like a hot rod bike. A really loud one. Cons: Very loud. I like it, but after my first 1 hour ride in an open faced helmet I was deaf for 2 hours like I'd just been to a metal concert. I will wear earplugs and enjoy the thunder. This is with leaving the baffles in that it came with! I can't imagine running with them out. Glad I jetted for baffles in. The set screw for the billet tips...ugh. I tried for hours to get either one of those things to thread and they just won't. Good thing that the tips were so tight to get in I think they'll hold by friction alone. Would've been nice to get tapping screws or something easier. Parts Giant is awesome. They called me before shipping just to verify I was getting the right parts for my model. I appreciate that. Everything was correct and worked.

Outstanding exhaust system!

By   on  Verified Purchaser

I purchased these pipes after a ton of research. I wanted a deep, throaty sound. I spent about two hours installing them. They are just beautiful on the bike. Instructions were very nicely written and easy to follow. Use gloves when assembling and keep finger prints off the pipes. After all this I was nervous to start my bike and finally hear it. Turned on the hey waiting for fuel pump to stop, eased in the clutch, tapped the starter button. They sound so nice. It’s better than I’d hoped for. The stock pipes weren’t bad, just too quiet. Now when I start my bike people notice. Sounds like a bike thumping V twin.

Easy install...

By   on  Verified Purchaser

Easy install. Which they had come with washers. They look bad ass and sound deep throaty mean. Woow the can hear. As far as performance I can't tell mayor difference rather than all that loudness. LOVE EM!!!

Your bike will sound bad***!

By   on

Got the pipes for my 2010 Honda Shadow Phantom. My bike has always had the factory pipes for years and I barely have ridden the thing due to sheer embarrassment of how it sounded...which was quiet and whiney. Researched online for what would fit my bike and kept coming back to Cobra. But the bullet and bought them. Shipped amazingly fast, swapped them out thanks to YouTube videos providing instructions since the packaged instructions were about as helpful as a white crayon. Was hesitant before cranking, but all fears were set aside once I heard the roar produced by these pipes. If you are wanting that classic rumble amplified, then these are the ones for you. My bike looks bad*** now and sounds bad*** now. Highly recommended!

Sounding good

Cobra does it again. Easy install and if a shade tree mechanic like me can put them on without any issues any body can. great product and finish. just the sound my X was looking for.

Cobra Streetrod Slashdown Exhaust

By   on

Awesome sounding pipes! Bar none the best upgrade for my bike. The OEM pipes were much too soft. Job well done by Cobra on this one!

Beautiful Pipes... Great Sound... Great Customer Service!

By   on  Verified Purchaser

Where you buy your parts from definitely makes a difference! I ordered my Cobra Streetrod Slashdown pipes late Sunday night and they were on my porch Tuesday morning! Perfect fit and sound for my 2009 Suzuki Boulevard M50! If I had one complaint it would be the directions could included a diagram or two but overall easy installation! Make sure you change your gaskets regardless of how they look! I won't buy from anywhere else from now on!

Infant Hot Rod Rumble and Character

By   on

This exhaust system is exactly what I was looking for. Very high quality and gives plenty of character to my Honda shadow. I was a little skeptical at first because of the volume at revs but the tone drowns out with the wind at highway speed. The throaty idle alone will make any passerby people look in awe. The instructions were fair but could’ve been a little more detailed when it came to attaching the heat shields. All in all a great buy. And 5 stars to Parts Giant for an easy and quick purchase process. 10/10 would buy again

Let's get ready to "RUUUMMMMBBBBLLLLEE".

By   on

I recently bought my 2013 Suzuki Boulevard and it was truly in showroom condition. The owner even added a windshield and leather saddle bags. It had only 7,000 miles on it and I managed to purchase it for $4,400. I was thrilled when I drove my bike out of his driveway. The ONLY thing missing was that rumble that all of us like in a motorcycle. For any of you that own or have owned a Suzuki (or any Japanese bike for that matter) you know that these bikes come stock with a very passive exhaust system. I spent a good amount of time researching what was available out there and I ran across quite a few. I watched videos, listened to different sounds and finally decided to purchase the Cobra Streetrod Slashdown Exhaust System. My son and I spent about 1-1/2 hours removing the existing exhaust and installing my new Slashdown system. When it came time to start the bike, we both hesitated. They look fantastic on the bike but so did the factory installed system that came on it. I was almost afraid to start the bike. I knew what I was looking for and I was afraid that somehow this system was going to let me down. Finally, my son turned the key, pressed the start button and was greeted with a rumble that absolutely blew our minds. We just looked at each other in disbelief. Not only did it sound fantastic....it blew our expectations out of the water (and this was just at an idle). We revved it up and it was heart stopping. Skeptics aren't going to believe this but I've been around motorcycles for much of my life and I know what Harley's sound like...."fantastic" right? Unless you already own a Harley, these pipes will be the best investment you will ever make for your bike.

Questions & Answers

Ask Question

I am going to purchase the full exhaust system for my 2020 Shadow Phantom. Which jet kit (or anything else) would you recommend I get to go along with it?

The Honda Shadow Phantom is actually a fuel-injected bike. You'll want to order a Fi2000R EFI Controller to go with this exhaust. It's easy to install and use, so getting your bike up to running is a snap with this kit!

By Tom
Answer Question

Do the exhaust mounting brackets come with it?

That depends on what bike it is that you have as it varies from machine-to-machine, with many of these kits re-using the OEM exhaust mounting brackets and hardware. In the event a special bracket had to be made in order to fit this exhaust, then yes, it will be included. As a general rule when it comes to all exhaust systems we have, so long as you have the original exhaust components, you won't have any problem installing these pipes.

By Tom
Answer Question

do i need a tuner with these pipes on a 2014 shadow 750

Yes, it would be recommended to install a tuner along with a full exhaust system.

By Andy
Answer Question

I have a 2007 Honda shadow vt750 aero. Can I add the cobra pipes without installing a jet kit? Novice bike mechanic in Florida. Thanks

I'll be placing a order for the cobras this week. Would like to install myself and save the labor cost but I do have a trusted mechanic. Love to ride budget is tight but want done right.

It would be recommended to install a jet kit along with the full exhaust system. You will most likely run into issues with popping and poor performance without one installed with a full exhaust system.

Answer Question

I have an 07 Suzuki boulevard m50 will these fit my bike with out complication

Yes, that is one of the models you can choose from the vehicle selection guide when adding to your cart. There is detailed installation instructions included showing exactly how to put this system on your bike.

By Andy
Answer Question

Will it fit 2020 honda shadow phantom?

Just be sure that you pick a 2020 Honda Shadow Phantom and you will get the correct exhaust system.

By Andy
Answer Question

I have a 2016 honda 750 phantom with 3100 miles. do you think I need to change exhaust gasket when I change the current exhaust pipes to streetrod slashdown?

Generally speaking, if the exhaust isn't leaking at the moment, there's a good chance the gaskets are in good enough shape to be re-used. No less, it doesn't hurt to have an extra set of gaskets on hand, just in case! Just search our website for "exhaust gaskets" to find the correct gaskets to fit your bike.

Answer Question

Does this exhaust have the bung for O2 sensors?

have a '12 suzuki C50T and it requires a bung to plug in to the exhaust.

Yes, the Cobra Streetrod Slashdown exhaust for the 2012 Suzuki VL800T Boulevard C50T does indeed come with provisions for fitting the OEM oxygen sensors to the exhaust. In this way, there's no need to permanently modify the OEM wire harness to fit this exhaust to your machine.

By Staff
Answer Question

does c50 or c50t suzuki 08 require fr2000 if cobra streetrod are installed?

Anytime a full exhaust system is installed on a motorcycle it his highly recommended to install a fuel controller or a jet kit to compensate for the lean running condition that can be caused by swapping out the full exhaust system.

By Staff
Answer Question

Will installing these pipes on a 2010 Shadow Phantom interfere with changing the rear tire?

This Cobra streetrod slashdown exhaust system would not inhibit tire service any more than the stock Honda system would. To get to the axle nut it may need to be loosened or removed from the rear cylinder to remove the axle. Any Honda shop should be well equipped to service this motorcycle with an aftermarket exhaust system installed.

By Staff
Answer Question

Does this system come with gaskets included?

Cobra does not provide exhaust gaskets for any of their exhaust systems. Many times you can re-use the original gaskets by flipping them over and cleaning up the exhaust ports. However, it is highly recommended to replace them while you are there. You can find exhaust gaskets for your ride by simply searching for "Exhaust Gaskets" in our search bar at the top of the page.

Answer Question

I'm wanting to purchase this exhaust for my 2008 Honda Shadow VT750C2 Spirit and was wondering which re-jet kit was recommended?

The best jet kit to fit your machine would be a Cobra Carburetor Jet Kit as they're engineered in conjunction with Cobra's exhaust systems. With that jet kit configured properly, you can be sure to have the best possible engine power output and throttle response. The included jet kit instructions explain exactly how to install and adjust those parts to get proper fueling. You'll find with that, you'll be all set to hit the road!

By Staff
Answer Question

Will these fit on my 2018 shadow phantom? What fuel management system will I need?

Just select your 2018 VT750C2B Shadow 750 Phantom from the drop down and you will have no issue installing these pipes to the 2018 model. I would suggest the Cobra Fi2000R Fuel Controller. That tuner is simple to install and ships with detailed installation instructions and a tuning guide. It is preset for a Cobra intake and a set of Cobra pipes.

By Staff
Answer Question

Does the cobra streetrod slashdown has Oxygen sensors? do i have to buy or install O2 sensors for the fi2000r

All Cobra exhausts are designed to work with the stock oxygen sensors on any machine you select from our fit guide. The same goes for the Fi2000R fuel tuner. The tuner will plug straight into the OEM wire harness on your machine and does not require the purchase of O2 sensors of any kind in order to function as advertised. Basically, if your bike ships from the factory with oxygen sensors, then the exhaust and the fuel tuner from Cobra will bolt straight up without issue.

Answer Question

Are the heat guards that come this exhaust system black? Will this look black on the bike? 2016 shadow phantom

Once you choose your machine from our fit guide, you'll be presented with a choice of finishes. If you were to select black with chrome end caps, you'd receive and exhaust with black heat shields. Mind you, as is the case with just about every exhaust system for cruisers, the pipes themselves are chrome, it's the heat shields that have a black color to them. So yes, the exhaust would look black all the way back to the end caps, which of course, have a chrome finish.

Answer Question

I have a Honda shadow vlx 600 what carb kit will i need

Cobra makes the perfect jet kit for your bike. In fact, their jet kits are specifically designed to work with their exhaust systems. Best of all, the included instructions do an excellent job of explaining how to install everything so you can get the best possible throttle response and engine power.

By Staff
Answer Question

I have a Suzuki boulevard C50T 2013, can I install by myself the Cobra Streetrod Slashdown Exhaust System? or do I have to do any special modification on the fuel system?

I mean, if I remove the original exhaust and then install the Cobra pipes, is it all that I have to do?

If you were going from a stock exhaust system to just adding slip-ons, most OEM ECUs can handle the change without adversely affecting engine performance and throttle response. However, when you go to a full system, we highly recommend adjusting fuel delivery to suit. In this way, you can be assured of a proper-running engine that makes good power and the best possible throttle response. For the C50T, we recommend the Power Commander FC to go along with the exhaust. It's easy to install, and very simple to configure for the C50T. With those two items combined, you can expect good power and great throttle response when compared to the bike's stock configuration. Plus, with the Power Commander FC, you can adjust fueling without having to take a trip to the dyno.

Answer Question

How hard is it to take the baffled out any special tool??

Each baffle is secured in position with a single screw. For most bikes - ones where you needn't remove the heat shield to get at the screws, you can pull them out of the exhaust in less than two minutes.

By Staff
Answer Question

I just purchased this exhaust but need to verify, do these pipes come with bungs to fit a 2012 suzuki boulevard c50t?

Yes, Cobra's Streetrod Slashdown Exhaust System for the Suzuki C50T does indeed come with oxygen sensor bungs. In fact, for just about every bike that comes from the factory with O2 sensors, Cobra designs their exhausts to accept the OEM oxygen sensor(s).

By Staff
Answer Question

I have a 2008 Suzuki c50 with k&n air filter. Will the Cobra Fi2000R EFI Controller be sufficient for fuel management?

Yes, the Fi2000R will be an ideal match for your particular setup. The fuel controller comes pre-set to work with Cobra's full exhaust systems, so it'll be pretty close to ideal right out of the box. The instructions that come with the controller also do an excellent job of explaining how to make adjustments (there are only three dials on the device) based upon things you notice while riding the bike. Best of all, you probably won't need to do much tweaking in order to get the most out of it.

Answer Question

Will these pipes fit a 2011 Yamaha V Star 1300?

Unfortunately, Cobra does not produce a set of Streetrod Slashdowns to fit the V-Star 1300. The closest that we have for your bike comes in the form of a V-Star 1300 Yamaha Speedster Slashdown exhaust system from Cobra. About the only cosmetic difference between the Streetrods and the Speedsters is where the mufflers terminate, with the latter being longer. The other, more significant difference is the fact that the Speedsters act more like a two-into-one exhaust thanks to a built-in crossover pipe. Traditionally, 2-into-1 exhausts provide for greater power gains than 2-into-2 pipes. Cobra managed to find a way around that using their proprietary crossover (aka balance) pipes between the two headers so, you get the look of a 2-into-2 design, but the power advantage that comes with a 2-into-1 pipe.

Answer Question

On my 2004 honda shadow aero 750, I've ordered the cobra Street Rod exhaust, also I've just put on kuryakyn hyper charger. Would it be a smart idea to upgrade my carburetor or injectors?

Yes, absolutely! With the addition of a complete Aero Honda 750 exhaust system and the air cleaner kit you've got on there, you'll want to adjust fueling to take advantage of the freer-breathing engine. To do that, Cobra makes the perfect Honda Shadow Aero jet kit for your bike. The included instructions do an excellent job of explaining how to install everything so you can get the best possible throttle response and engine power.

By Staff
Answer Question

On a 2014 Honda Shadow will this affect your check engine light

No, you shouldn't have to worry about the check engine light coming on with the installation of this exhaust. This is due to the fact that you needn't remove or modify any sensors in order to fit this Honda Shadow exhaust to your machine.

By Staff
Answer Question

Do these pipes come in black for the Honda shadow spirit 750

It really depends on what model year Spirit 750 it is that you have. If it the newer VT750C2 Spirit (2007+ model years), yes - Cobra does indeed have the Streetrod Slashdown available in black to fit that bike. For the older VT750DC, unfortunately - they can only be had in chrome.

By Staff
Answer Question

If I remove the baffle will this make it louder and if I install this system will I be losing mpg?

Removing the baffles will certainly make any exhaust louder. As far as mileage is concerned, the difference is likely negligible, albeit - there's very little data to support what changes, if any, will occur.

By Staff
Answer Question

does this system comewith header ppipes to

Cobra's Streetrod Slashdown Exhaust system is a complete replacement for the OEM exhaust pipes from the header all the way back to the muffler(s). You just remove the OEM exhaust system and bolt this in its place. If your machine is equipped with a(n) oxygen sensor(s), the exhaust will come with provisions for fitting the OEM oxygen that on the aftermarket Cobra pipe. Everything you need is included in the box!

By Staff
Answer Question

i have a fuel injected c50t bike do i need to purchase a fuel monitoring system when i install this exhaust system??

The best option we have would be is in the form of Cobra's PowrPro Black fuel controller for the Suzuki C50T. The device continuously adjusts fueling as you ride and you can use an Android or iOS-enabled smart phone to really get it set up to your specific needs. There's even an auto-tune feature that'll help you set up the device without a trip to the dyno.

By Staff
Answer Question

Do the pipes come with a jet kit?

Cobra exhausts do not ship with a jet kit. We do have the perfect jet kit to go along with any Cobra exhaust in the form of the Cobra Carburetor Jet Kit. Since they're designed to work with your bike and a Cobra exhaust system, you'll have everything you need to get the most out of this exhaust in one little red box. The included instructions detail very clearly how to go about setting up your carburetor, too - so you can install everything with confidence.

By Staff
Answer Question

Does it come with a replacement gasket?

Cobra exhausts do not come with exhaust gaskets. Provided the OEM gaskets on your machine are in good condition, you may re-use them when installing this, or any other exhaust that we sell. In most, cases and especially on newer bikes, the exhaust gaskets are usually in pretty good shape and are acceptable for re-use.
