I like almost everything, look and sound good. The bolts would not screw into the weld nuts. Prior to installation I had to clean out the welded nuts with the correct size tap.

Picture clearly shows that black upper heat shields. Ad said black heat shields are included but when the package arrived. Only included heat shields on the ship on portion. I was disappointed that I had to pay another $150 for upper black heat shields. They should make sure they mention if you have all chrome pipes that only the slip on portion shields are included. 2016 Harley Davidson FXDB Dyna Street Bob

I bought these mufflers to get more volume. They certainly are louder. However, the sound is sharp and high pitched. I would prefer a fuller, more bass sound. The pipes do look good. 2020 Harley Davidson FLDE Softail Deluxe

This is the second time I purchased mufflers from Parts Giant. The prices are the best and the service is fantastic.

Decent sounding. Not quite as throaty as I would have liked, but much better than stock. An adventure to install (back bolts on stock mufflers removal and installation on Vance and Hines.)

For me I don't care for the sound of the pipes. Not only EXTREMELY LOUD! They don't sound deep and ballzy like one would expect. Not sure how to describe but almost "tinny" (kind of like import cars with a loud exhaust vs Chevy small block with duals and headers) Now I can buy a part to slide into the pipes to tame the sound But that cost another $100. Although, the pipes seem well made and the chrome makes my bike pop!

I ordered these slip on's Tuesday morning and 36 hrs later I had my order. Now for the mufflers, the packing kept the pipes from scratching and all parts needed accept muffler clamp is included. I ordered chrome to match my 2008 Softail Deluxe 105th Anniversary. I know V&H are what most people put on to gain the Harley sound... But for me? a touch too loud. BUT these have guts you can buy to customize your sound!

Easy to install and sound awesome. Ordered on Sunday and received on Tuesday, so partsgiant really doesn't mess around when it comes to shipping and handling.

I installed these mufflers on my 2013 FLSTC when new. I hate the raspy sound. I have used V&H exhaust on over 20 Harleys previously and loved them, these sound cheap. Going to switch to true dual fishtail which I had on my 07 FLSTC and they sounded great.

Awesome delivery time and installed equally fast. Best overall sound, much better than stock from the rumble at idle to wide open. Look great as well. Very happy with these slip-ons.

Answer QuestionYes, these mufflers would come with baffles already installed.

Answer QuestionAs you've noticed with other answers in the Q&A - it really depends on a variety of factors (intake, riding altitude &etc.) - not so much what bike you're putting the exhaust on to. Sure, your bike will run after installing the Vance & Hines slip-on mufflers, but it may not operate at peak performance. You could certainly try running the bike without changing fuel characteristics, but you won't be getting the most out of the exhaust as the OEM ECU can only make up for a limited range of fuel delivery shortcomings. An aftermarket fuel management system in the form of a Vance & Hines Fuelpak FP3 will completely mitigate any chance of less-than-optimal power output, and just as critically - throttle response. While lots of riders want as much power as possible, what's particularly noticeable is the way the engine responds to your throttle hand. If you want to avoid hesitation when you grab a big handful or having the bike stumble at a constant power setting, you will want to make some sort of fueling adjustment along with the installation of this exhaust.

Answer QuestionThe answer is, maybe. It really depends on a variety of factors, and most often - backfiring is associated with how well the entire exhaust system is sealed up. Usually, it's caused by a leak in the exhaust somewhere. So long as the gaskets on the cylinder head to which the headers are attached are in good shape and the mufflers are installed nice n' straight, you may not have any problems. Still, since modern machines are tuned to run rather lean from the factory, exhaust gas temperatures are rather high and, upon the installation of this, or any other aftermarket exhaust system - you may still notice some backfiring as the engine will be running even more lean. This all depends on where you do most of your riding, and the type of the fuel that you put in your bike. In the event that you do find your bike backfiring, we do have one of the easiest-to-use fuel controllers on the market in the form of the Vance & Hines FP3 fuel management system. With that device, you simply tell it what bike you're riding, the type of exhaust you have and it does the rest. You just need a iOS or Android smartphone and the FP3 app to get it set up. Plus, with the Autotune feature, there's no need to make a visit to the dyno and you can easily re-tune your bike anytime you change the exhaust, air cleaner or any other part that effects the way air gets into or out of the combustion chamber. After all, if you're installing an exhaust to get better performance out of your bike (and the stock mufflers really choke performance) - you might as well go the whole hog and tune your bike with some sort of fuel management system. In this way, you'll be assured maximum performance, the best possible throttle response and minimal backfiring.

Answer QuestionWhile you can often go ahead and install an exhaust (be it a slip-on or complete exhaust system) by itself; to get the most out of your bike, you're better off adjusting fueling to match. Any time you change the way air gets into, or out of, the engine - you will want to modify your bike's fueling in order to get the best possible throttle response and engine power output. Vance & Hines offers three kits that suit their exhausts perfectly as they've done most of the dyno testing in-house and have ready-made maps to work with most popular configurations. If you have a 2012 or newer model, there's a good chance that there's a Vance & Hines Fuelpak FP3 Autotuner available to fit your bike. With that kit, once it's properly configured with the aid of your smart phone - fueling is automatically adjusted while you ride using a myriad of your bike's OEM sensors to give you the best possible power output. For most fuel-injected models up to the 2013 model year, the Vance & Hines Fuelpak or Fuelpak LCD would be a wise choice since programming either of them is simple and - like the previously mentioned FP3 unit, they're very easy to install. There's also a simple map library available from the manufacturer for the Fuelpak/LCD which allows you to configure it to account for some of the most popular aftermarket accessories.
