I have installed the super e on many scooters, all big twins. This was the first sportster and like the rest its fantastic. This bike is stock except for a 2 into 1 header still doing the jetting the kit came with a generous amount of intermediate jets and main jets went 1 size up on both but looks like i will be going up 1 more size on both to be perfect.

No regrets, this far exceeds the stock evo carb performance wise. Probably the best upgrade I have done. Followed the included instructions closely for my bike and it fired right up. Didn't take too long to install, though I took my time. Quality carb imo.

Answer QuestionBoth carburetors are very good for what they do. In terms of power output, if you've got a lot of mods on your engine, then the S&S is probably going to be helpful, properly adjusted, of course. If you're happy with the way your bike is running now, then maybe this isn't the best thing mess with!

Answer QuestionYou'll certainly need to adjust fueling in order to install this on your machine if you expect it to run correctly. Whether or not it'll need to be re-jetted really depends on your bike's overall configuration. If it's mostly stock, then different jets usually are not required. If you've got an exhaust and engine work in your build, then the components included in the kit might not be enough to properly meter fuel. We do, of course, have jets available to accommodate those needs, should it arise.

Answer QuestionNothing - you need nothing added to your order to fit this S&S carb kit for the 2001 Harley Davidson FLSTF Softail Fat Boy. An S&S manifold is included in the box, which bolts straight up to the stock cylinder heads and then of course, the carb itself is fitted to that. Have fun wit your build!

Answer QuestionYou would also need to change the ignition system over to something like the S&S HI-4N system. You would also need a stock ignition rotor from an 1984-1999 carbureted EVO HD number 32402-83. This will completely eliminate the fuel injection control and ignition to allow you to properly tune for the carburetor.

Answer QuestionAs long as you are selecting the same model year 2001 Harley Davidson FLHR Road King it would have the manifold carb and all the pieces to swap the fuel injected manifold off of the 2001 FLHRI. You would need to find an ignition control unit that is twin cam specific for 99-03.
