S&S Super E Carburetor Kit

Both carburetors are very good for what they do. In terms of power output, if you've got a lot of mods on your engine, then the S&S is probably going to be helpful, properly adjusted, of course. If you're happy with the way your bike is running now, then maybe this isn't the best thing mess with!

You'll certainly need to adjust fueling in order to install this on  your machine if you expect it to run correctly. Whether or not it'll need to be re-jetted really depends on your bike's overall configuration. If it's mostly stock, then different jets usually are not required. If you've got an exhaust and engine work in your build, then the components included in the kit might not be enough to properly meter fuel. We do, of course, have jets available to accommodate those needs, should it arise.

Nothing - you need nothing added to your order to fit this S&S carb kit for the 2001 Harley Davidson FLSTF Softail Fat Boy. An S&S manifold is included in the box, which bolts straight up to the stock cylinder heads and then of course, the carb itself is fitted to that. Have fun wit your build!

Yes, this kit is offered for that 1996 XL1200S. Please be aware of the note stating that the kit for that bike does require the installation of earlier butterfly style throttle cables, sold separately.

It has an enrichener that works like a choke but would be manually engaged on the Super E carb.

Yes, if you were to choose the 1995 Harley Davidson FXSTS Springer Softail S&S Super E carburetor kit from our fit guide, you'd receive the correct carburetor to fit your machine.

This carb uses stock cables for the model year selected at checkout. Models that require different throttle cables other than stock will be noted in our listing details.

You would also need to change the ignition system over to something like the S&S HI-4N system. You would also need a stock ignition rotor from an 1984-1999 carbureted EVO HD number 32402-83. This will completely eliminate the fuel injection control and ignition to allow you to properly tune for the carburetor.

As long as you are selecting the same model year 2001 Harley Davidson FLHR Road King it would have the manifold carb and all the pieces to swap the fuel injected manifold off of the 2001 FLHRI. You would need to find an ignition control unit that is twin cam specific for 99-03.

In some cases, the image shown may be for reference only since S&S doesn't supply photographs of each Super E carburetor kit they produce. So long as your machine is of the stock configuration for the model you select from the fit guide that's immediately to the right of the main image above, you should have no problem installing this S&S carb kit on your machine.

This S&S Super E carburetor kit includes a manifold to fit the models listed. You will need to install that manifold in order to fit your machine. Provided your bike is equipped with the stock cylinder heads, you should have no problem installing this kit on your machine.
