Stock-style replacement rotor with an average resistance of 5.5 Ohms when new
Check the OE rotor resistance between the slip rings with a multimeter
If it is less than 4.3 Ohms the rotor is bad
No charge to the battery is a typical symptom of a bad rotor
Often when the rotor fails due to internal shorting (resistance less than 2 Ohms) it will also take out the voltage regulator/rectifier
We highly recommend the replacement of the regulator/rectifier as well upon installation of this rotor to be sure all systems are good on your bike

I purchased this rotor 5 months ago for my 1981 CB900C and it arrived quickly. Upon bench testing it prior to installation, it tested at 5.3 Ohms. It installed quickly and easily on my motorcycle and the charging system appeared to be charging adequately. However, only 600 miles later, my charging system failed, leaving me stranded on a motorcycle trip. When testing my new Electrosport rotor again, it tested at 2.9 Ohms. It was the culprit. Hopefully these rotors are being built to better standards, however, this seems to be a rather common theme when one reads through the internet on the issue with Electrosport rotors. Beware, as they do have a bad reputation for a reason.

Unfortunately, Electrosport rotors don't come with instructions. That said, your best bet would be to order a Cylmer Service Manual from our website for your bike along with the rotor. With that manual, you'll have all the information you need for servicing not only the charging system, but all the components on your bike.
All Electrosport Rotors, Stators and Regulator/Rectifiers carry a one year manufacturer warranty directly with Electrosport.
