The redesigned PowerBomb is a four-stroke header that incorporates FMF's patented PowerBomb module at a precise location in the initial stage of the header. By positioning this ""Bomb"" at a key point in the system, increased performance and flow is achieved through the expansion and contraction of exhaust waves as they pass through the system. The result is a flow increase of nearly 10%!
The outer chamber in the PowerBomb allows the air to expand, cool and ramp back up at a higher velocity as it passes through this section. Additionally, the PowerBomb also acts as a pre-muffler of sorts which helps to lower the bike's sound output by providing more sound absorbing surface area within the exhaust.

I finally banged up my stock header bad enough that I decided to put a new one on. I haven't had a good opportunity to really bash on the throttle, but it sounds much better.

Looks and runs outstanding with my FMF muffler on my YFZ450.

Answer QuestionYes, all FMF PowerCore slip-on exhausts are compatible with all FMF PowerBomb headers. You shouldn't have any problems bolting this header up to your FMF muffler-equipped machine.

Answer QuestionAs long as you have a FMF muffler, you should have no problem fitting the FMF header.

Answer QuestionFMF's PowerBomb headers are designed to fit any machine that's equipped with an FMF muffler, including the Mini PowerCore 4. You should have no problem fitting this header to any machine equipped with an FMF muffler listed in our fit guide.

Answer QuestionFMF head pipes are only compatible with FMF mufflers. The headpipe diameter is larger than stock and will not properly mate to an OEM muffler. The FMF slip-ons ship with a reducer sleeve to allow installation to a factory head pipe, but it can be removed for a larger diameter slip fit to the FMF header if it is upgraded down the road. For each model you would only need to select a quantity of one at checkout. Each listing is for the correct number of headpipe(s) for the selected application.

Answer QuestionThis FMF Stainless Steel PowerBomb Header will fit any FMF slip-on muffler produced for the 2006 YFZ450 ATV. Just be certain to select your exact 2006 Yamaha YFZ450 ATV from the drop down and we guarantee it will fit.

Answer QuestionAll FMF headers are designed to work with FMF mufflers, of any kind. In other words, you don't need to purchase any additional parts to fit these header to your machine so long as it has an FMF muffler on it.

Answer QuestionYes, we do have an FMF PowerBomb header to fit the 2004 Suzuki RM-Z250, but as is noted in the item's description - it will only fit if your machine is equipped with an FMF RM-Z250 muffler of some type. This is due to the fact that the OEM RM-Z250 2004 header has a different diameter on its inlet than does the FMF PowerBomb header. For this reason, you must purchase (or have) an FMF muffler to go along with the header. We have an FMF Q4 for the RM-Z, FMF Factory 4.1 SL or RM-Z250 FMF PowerCore 4 muffler that are a perfect match for the header in question. With any of those mufflers, you'll have everything you need to fit the PowerBom header to your bike.

Answer QuestionBoth items will certainly increase fuel consumption, though exactly how much, is difficult to say. If you're riding an offroad bike with the original size fuel tank on it, you probably won't notice any significant difference in distance traveled when you switch to reserve or run out of fuel. Though, if you were to have a larger aftermarket tank installed, it's quite possible you may notice a slight difference in distance before running on empty. If your bike were properly tuned for fuel delivery, it's likely you won't even get near a 10% increase in fuel consumption.

Answer QuestionFMF's headers are designed to work with the OEM muffler, or an FMF muffler only. Due to the different diameter at the header's outlet, they will not fit any other type of aftermarket muffler. The reason FMF mufflers fit FMF pipes is because they ship with a spacer that'll bring the muffler's inlet diameter down to the correct size that'll fit the stock header. When you later upgrade to an FMF header, you simply remove that spacer so everything fits together nicely. For these reasons, this header will not fit a Lexx Mxe muffler.
By Silver
Answer QuestionUnfortunately, no - this header won't fit anything other than the OEM or FMF muffler. This is due to the fact that FMF mufflers come with a spacer to fit the OEM head pipe. To fit that same FMF muffler to a FMF header, you simply omit that spacer to make it fit. While other aftermarket mufflers may come with a spacer, it's unlikely they're of the same inlet diameter that the FMF header requires. For that reason, it will not fit.

Answer QuestionIn the case of the YFZ450 ATV, the GYTR muffler will not work with the FMF header. FMF's header pipes are almost all designed to work only with FMF mufflers as they are of a different diameter than the stock pipe in order to produce as much power as possible. It is for this reason that FMF mufflers come with a spacer to accommodate the OEM head pipe. You're to remove that spacer when installing an FMF PowerBomb or MegaBomb header. For your particular needs, you may wish to go with a YFZ450 FMF Factory 4 Full Exhaust System. With that, you'll get the best possible exhaust flow and maximum power output. Just be sure to get the proper FMF YFZ450 jet kit to go with it in order to adjust fuel delivery accordingly.

Answer QuestionNo - FMF headers are designed to work only with FMF mufflers. You would need to purchase an FMF muffler in order to have it fit this, or any other FMF header we have for sale. This is due to the fact that FMF headers almost always have a wider diameter than the stock muffler so as to permit greater exhaust gas flow and more power.
By jeff
Answer QuestionNo, FMF headers only work with FMF mufflers. The reason for this is due to the fact that FMF's mufflers come with an adapter that's designed to fit the OEM header, but can then be removed later on when you purchase an FMF header. That is to say, the size of the outlet on FMFs' headers are different than stock and won't fit the OEM muffler. If you'd like to stick with the OEM muffler for sound output reasons, you could match that header with an FMF Q4 slip-on muffler. That particular unit is designed to be a little quieter than a full-on race system.

2013 KTM 250 xcf-w
Answer QuestionIt's hard to say exactly what kind of power gain you can expect from any exhaust without knowing exactly how your 2013 KTM 250 XCF-W is configured (air filter, airbox mods, fueling, &etc.). With proper tuning (jet kit, Power Commander, Bazzaz Z-Fi - all of which you can find in our store), you can certainly expect an increase in power output, but most importantly, you'll notice improved throttle response and better drive off the corners.
