Tank fits well and doesn't change riding position.
By David F. on Verified Purchaser
The tank is ok but the hook for the seat will not fit a Seat Concepts seat pan without grinding down the width of the bracket itself.
By Lanny G. on Verified Purchaser
This tank is solid and likely better quality than the stock tank. During assembly I worried that shrouds and other parts were not lining up correctly but after getting it in place and using an awl to line up the holes, everything fit and settled in to its rightful spot... no issues at all. I do wish Acerbis would use more of a white-translucent than a light amber-translucent color plastic.

I love the tank. The extra .4 gallons over my 4.9 IMS "guppy" tank is appreciated but I bought this tank because I love the way it changes the look of my bike. Of course I painted all the other body work to match the tank. It has transformed my vintage looking DR into a modern bike.

Fits my 2020 Honda crf250l great! Now I don't have to worry about running out of gas every 100 miles.
By Dr. Jon on Verified Purchaser
So far great tank, install was pretty easy. 2 issues I had with install. 1. screws to put Petcock on used my OEM machine screws which seem wrong but will find out I guess. Thought it would have some coarse plastic screws but there was none. No instructions but luckily there is youtube. 2. reattaching the horn had to get creative and needed a extra long screw and nut to mount it works great so far. Only 1.0 extra gallon, so with my gas eating 450 EXC only 35 mpg usually I am good for about 110 miles without worry. Before I have had to go reserve at 75 miles even 50. The tank took away from the looks a bit because OEM had pretty stickers. Me, I want to ride the bike, not look at it. Anyway time to put a bunch of miles on this bad boy.

We had to look into getting a different gas tank for my crf 150RB and it fit just like the OEM one and is way bigger but you can't tell a size change in it. This was a good price for what we paid for.

It is a great fit on my DR650SE and, a great look!

I was disappointed. Acerbis has been making this XR650L gas tank for well over 20yrs, so I thought that it would be a time proven product - but it's not. The fit on my XR650L is terrible. The hardware is subpar. I had to file bolt holes to make their brackets mount on their tank. Then choice of bolts was poorly selected. Since nothing lines up they need to provide bolts with shoulders for you to press into alignment - finally, the fit was so tight that now the throttle cable binds on the tank/frame. - a huge disappointment - with problems that should have been worked out years ago.

Got this for 2015 exf 350 in Jan 18 and today filled gas up and gas was pouring out. Pulled seat and top 2 bolts(Wood screws) pulled out from fuel pump and would not tight back up.lasted almost a year. Bad design,it needs brass fitting like oem tank...glad a keep the stock one..

I just finished installing a 3.1 gallon tank on my 2017 KTM EXC-F, Fit and finish was very good. The installation hardware is not compatible for this year bike. The tank is thinner where the fuel pump mounts at back and bottom of the tank. The screws to fasten the assembly to the rear of the tank are to short. The fuel outlet on the bottom of the tank cannot use the right angle original 90 degree fitting due to the thinner tank, You cannot tighten it far enough. You will have to find another right angle fitting and a different hose arrangement. Or do a lot of modification to the original fitting which I did. This should be added to the item description. I also would like to see the brass inserts at all mounting points in the tank like the original to use a bolt instead of the wood screws that screw into the tank.

Purchased the 5.3 Natural. Fit my 2014 DR650 perfectly. Took longer to remove stock tank than to install this one. Really looks good too.

This tank has been great for getting more miles in the trails, instead of heading back to fill up. Great fit, quality tank.

Answer QuestionYes, that's correct. You won't have any problem fitting this CRF450R aftermarket tank to your bike. It's made to work with the OEM plastics along with the stock fuel pump and all other stock parts on your bike. It does come with its own gas cap, but other than that, you are to re-use all remaining OEM parts.
By MARCELO CASTRO
Answer QuestionYes, that 2780660001 tank would fit the 2022 FE450 model according to Acerbis.
By Don
Answer QuestionSo long as you choose that 2021 KTM 500 EXC-F when adding to your cart, you should have no problem fitting the 3.9 gallon tank on that bike.
By Shovel
Answer QuestionIf your bike came from the factory with a fan, then there will be enough clearance for it to work with this tank. If it's a KTM parts catalog or aftermarket fan that you have on your machine, then you'll have to choose one or the other as they are NOT compatible.
By Anon.
Answer QuestionIn the case of the 2011 DR650 Acerbis fuel tank, there's no need to move the stock turn signals in order to fit the tank to your bike. This holds true for all DR650 tanks made by Acerbis - none of them require that you relocate the stock turn signals to fit the tank on that bike.
By Kevin
Answer QuestionThis 3.2 gallon fuel tank is not compatible. Acerbis offers a 3.0, 4.1 and a 5.3 gallon fuel tank in black or natural finish that fits a 2014 KTM 450 XC-F. Just be certain to select your exact model and model year at checkout, and we guarantee it will fit.

Answer Question1996-2001 Yamaha YZ250 fuel tanks are a different shape and use differ mounting than the later model year 2002-2019 YZ250 2-stroke tanks fuel tanks. They would not be interchangeable with each-other.
By Drew
Answer QuestionYes, if you were to choose the 2017 Husqvarna FE 501 fuel tank from our fit guide, you'd receive the correct tank to fit your machine. Plus, the extended range will be really nice for longer tours!
By Collin R.
Answer QuestionOnce you select your bike from our fit guide, you'll be able to choose the color and capacity you want to fit your machine. In the case of the 2005 Yamaha YZ125, Acerbis produces a 3.2 gallon fuel tank. The extra capacity is especially useful if you're a desert or trail rider as those little bikes tend to eat up the fuel when you're on the main jet the whole time!
By Ty
Answer QuestionYes, this tank will indeed fit your machine. If you were to select the 2005 Yamaha YZ250F 2-Stroke Aderbis tank from our fit guide that's immediately to the right of the main image on our website, you'd receive the correct tank to fit your machine.

Answer QuestionYes, if you were to choose the 2002 Yamaha YZ250F 4-Stroke fuel tank from our fit guide, you'd receive the correct tank to fit your machine.
By Mike
Answer QuestionYes, we have these Acerbis tanks available in a 3.1 or 3.9 gallon capacity for the 2017 KTM 450 EXC-F. Please note, these tanks don't work on machines equipped with a fan kit, so please keep that in mind before ordering.
By kelly
Answer QuestionYes, Acerbis does build a fuel tank to fit the Honda CRF450RX. Just choose the 2018 Honda CRF450RX gas tank from our fit guide and you're all set!
By G.
Answer QuestionSo long as the seat is of a stock replacement design, you probably won't run into any problems fitting an Acerbis tank to your machine. The forward-most portion of the seat is particularly critical as that's what interfaces with the tank. If that part of the seat is wider or longer than the OEM unit, then you may run into problems fitting the tank on your bike.
By bobby
Answer QuestionIf you were to choose the Natural color from our fit guide, you'd receive a tank in which you could easily see how much fuel is left without having to remove the gas cap and look inside. The natural color is translucent, so a quick glance at the side is all it takes to see how much is left. Acerbis' tanks for KTM models in the natural color are almost identical to the color used on KTM's offroad - not MX, bikes as they come off the showroom floor.
By Bob
Answer QuestionSince it's impossible to calibrate the fuel gauge to work with a tank of a different size capacity, you'll have to figure out the volume remaining through careful testing. That is, turn the bike on and then slowly add a known quantity of fuel until you see the first bar. Mark that down, and then continue to see how much fuel is required to reach the second bar. Mark down the volume added. Repeat until the the fuel level gauge shows full. This will give you a precise measure of what those bars actually mean with regard to fuel volume once you start to see it go down on the gauge.
By steve
Answer QuestionBasically, the fuel gauge would function in the same manner as it did with the original tank, albeit it may not start showing fuel consumed from a full tank for a little while longer. This is due to the extra volume within. In other words, it'll indicate a full tank for a greater period of time before it starts going down.

Answer QuestionYes, Acerbis does produce a large gas tank for the 2004 Honda XR250R. We have them available in natural, white or red. Just choose the 2008 XR250R from our fit guide, and the color that you want and we guarantee you'll get an Acerbis XR250 fuel tank to fit your bike!

Answer QuestionSo long as you're using a stock WR250F seat, or a seat where the front edge of it is the same shape and size as the OEM seat, you shouldn't have any problem fitting this WR250F tank to your machine. As an aside, Acerbis X-Seats are also designed to work flawlessly with Acerbis fuel tanks.

How many miles can you get out of a 2.7 gallon on a 2016 Honda 450r , racing desert?
Answer QuestionIt's really hard to say exactly what kind of mileage you could expect what with variable such as altitude, gearing and the type of rider you are. I can tell you that we've seen CRF450R models get anywhere between mid-30 to mid 50 MPG, depending on the rider and the terrain. It's a safe bet that you'd get at least 80 miles out of one tank and maybe even up to 130. Given that you're working in a racing environment, however - you range would most likely be towards the shorter end of the scale.
By gmtcm
Answer QuestionYes, we do have Acerbis fuel tanks available to fit the 2016 KTM 500 EXC. You can get them in either, a 3 or 4.1 gallon capacity in either a black or natural color. The nice thing about the natural color is that you can easily glance at the tank and have a pretty good idea of how much fuel is left.
By Anon.
Answer QuestionIt really depends on what machine it is that you have. Some Acerbis gas tanks are not compatible with the OEM fuel petcock, others are. Where required, every tank that we sell from Acerbis will include its own petcock. If the tank you receive doesn't include the a petcock, you are to re-use the OEM item in order to complete the installation.

Answer QuestionYes, all of Acerbis' fuel tanks are designed to work with the OEM seat. This goes for the 2000 Yamaha WR400F Acerbis gas tank as well. Simply choose your machine from our drop down fit guide and we'll get the correct tank to work with the stock seat and the stock plastics on its way to you. Best of all, we guarantee it'll fit!
By Robert
Answer QuestionAcerbis fuel tanks are only compatible with the gas cap that comes with the tank. You cannot re-use the OEM fuel cap to fit on the Acerbis gas tank.
By Anon.
Answer QuestionAll Acerbis gas tanks, expect for those that are being fitted to a 2003-2006 Yamaha WR250F or 2004-2006 Yamaha WR450F will work with the stock plastics on the model that you select. In the case of the aforementioned Yamaha WR models, those fuel tanks must be used in conjunction with 2003-2005 Yamaha YZ250F/YZ450F radiator shrouds as the Acerbis fuel tank doesn't fit the original radiator shrouds on those particular machines.
