Answer QuestionProgressive recommends heavy-duty 412 series shocks for any solo rider over 220 lbs. And, if your concerns are whether or not that's enough for a passenger, I can assure you that the heavy-duty springs are far better than the stock shocks, in terms of bottoming resistance!

Answer QuestionProgressive only produces covered shocks for the 1989 FXRS in an 11 inch length. We do have a set of Standard Progressive 412 Series Shocks available to fit that machine in a 13 inch length, albeit - the coil springs are exposed.
