Ask Question

What's the difference from standard to upgrade?

Standard All Balls wheel bearings are built to OEM specifications. That is to say, the smoothness and sealing surfaces use on the bearings are built to the same tolerances and using similar materials as the OEM bearings on any machine you select from our fit guide. The upgrade wheel bearing kits are just that - better than OEM replacement wheel bearings. Particularly with regard to their ABEC (Annular Bearing Engineering Committee) ratings. High ABEC ratings, in general, denote higher manufacturing tolerances with regard to surface smoothness on the bearing friction areas. The result of this improved smoothness is longer wheel bearing life, and, ostensibly, less power loss from the engine to the ground through the drivetrain. Whether or not the extra cost is justified for your needs is difficult to say, but if you're a racer looking for advantage wherever possible, the modest price for the upgrade may really be worth the take to get closer to the front!

Answer Question

I have never put a set of wheel bearings in my bikes some else always done it it don't seem to be that hard too do mine don't really need a set but it's better to do it and have it done just wanted to no how hard would it be forever me to do my yz85

So long as you have the proper tools to get the work done, if you're comfortable with changing crankcase oil and swapping out reed valves, YZ85 wheel bearing replacement isn't a difficult job. All you need is a bearing puller and bearing driver tool and you're all set. Of course, a Clymer Shop Repair Manual will go a long way to making sure you do the work correctly, so be sure to order one of those when servicing your bike's wheel bearings!
